Marie Calendar Frozen Pie – My first attempt at pies in the fan // i did weird things/ but @ 30 minutes later // the cane sugar is warm in the middle/ the crust is yellow and peeling. I made a microwave oven for a while.
to reduce the time // reading the review about maximum time for nukes/ which I will try next time. Used Marie Calendars The best part is the crust and gravy // as I remember from decades ago.

Marie Callender’s Large Chicken Pot Pie Ounces
release Please ensure that your food is always well prepared. We recommend investing in a reliable kitchen thermometer. Check out the range available on Amazon – yes… Hi, I’m Stuart, nice to meet you. I’m the founder, writer, and curator at Gastronomic SLC, Utah’s largest and oldest online food magazine;
I was also a restaurant critic for over five years working for the Salt Lake Tribune. I have worked extensively with many national and local publications, particularly helping to advise on national television programming. Try to understand why it is fried for 60 minutes on a pot.
When you can put it in the oven for 35 minutes. Is there anything special or specific that I’m missing in terms of taste? #justgotaairfasherbutworkafulltimejobmom help me figure this out Great! I just got a Ninja 5.5qt.
I baked for 40 minutes at 360 degrees and I’m waiting for it to finish. I thought frying might be too much, so I opted for grilling. I read your comment and now I know I made the right choice.
After all, yes, these are little stoves with a fancy name. Temperature control is definitely necessary for nuanced cooking. For example, I can cook soft-boiled, hard-boiled, and medium-boiled eggs in my air fryer, but when I cook at 250F, I guess 400F will overheat and cause the eggs to crack.
The closer you get to the 400F mark (or higher), the better your crispy results will be. The lower you go, the slower the grill. Enjoy made-from-scratch details you’ll want to share. Some eat dessert and some like dessert.
Marie’s frozen desserts are perfect for treating your family to sweet, delicious flavors. So gather the family and enjoy one of our popular frozen pies. No two fans are alike, so it’s rude and useless to yell at Stewart because your burns are burned.
This is not push-button technology that works for all cars. And it’s not magic. It’s real cooking… you have to pay attention and learn. Oven is an oven oven. Hello Peter. Essentially, an air fryer is a small convection oven.
Most are small devices that generate a lot of heat in a small area and then use a fan to circulate the air at a fast rate. Convection cooking creates the crispy finish that most people love with fan cooking.

Sure, you can buy a full-size range oven with a convection fan, but in my experience, it’s the small enclosed space of the fan that enhances airflow and maximizes crispiness. I’ve never tried making a fan before, but I’m definitely going to try this.
I have a 15oz Marie callender pot pie and a pair of Instant Pots with vented “hoods”. Whether it works out the way I want it to or not, I’m glad someone took the time to research this method so I can have a reference as a starting point.
Thanks Stuart! I love you! Please note that the last baked cake may be difficult to remove from the fan; I recommend investing in some heat-resistant cooking gloves if you plan to use the fryer more than once.
Check out these gloves on Amazon for under $20. They can manipulate things in the pan a little more simply and safely. Please note that we receive a small referral fee if you make a purchase through that link.
Of course Tom – air pan cake really depends on many factors, many of which are the style of your fan. I will be sure to keep an eye on things as they are made. Two frosted foil cut 10 oz Marie Calendar cupcakes bake beautifully in our Ninja Speedie at 350 for 40 minutes.
The top crust is nicely browned and has a definite crunch. The underside is brown throughout. The filling is done. Our house smells really great. Thank you. You can also thaw it in the refrigerator and then cook it at about 350 degrees.
It is done on a 160-170 meat thermometer. See the crust. Did I mention you need a meat thermometer no matter what you’re cooking? You’ll be surprised how much easier and safer it is than guessing what you’re cooking.
Hello Jean. Usually you are right. With items like chicken nuggets, fries, spring rolls, I think you can really cut down on cooking time with a fan. Essentially, the pieces are smaller, with a larger surface area where hot air circulates to cook faster.
I’ve seen products that take 20 minutes in the oven to just over 5 minutes in the fan. We recently updated this (previously recommended 40 minutes at 400F) but some users report burning, some users report good results.
This updated recipe cooks at a lower temperature for a longer time; i’m also an obsessive fan of the fan. Every day I always ask myself, “can I air fry this?” I started the Air Frying Guide as a way to chronicle my own air frying adventures in hopes that it will help others.
Ok here’s what I did, I use a food grade air conditioner. I baked a 15oz pot pie from Marie Callender. First I put it in the microwave for 7.5 minutes. The manual says if you want it to cook in the microwave for 10 minutes.

But I hate soft shell. I also did not make an incision as instructed. So I put it in the fan for 4 minutes. Perfect! Absolutely perfect! The crust was a nice golden brown and everything was piping hot.
Tonight I brewed Marie Callender’s 15 oz. Chicken patties in a Ninja AF101 4-quart pan, using your recommended 350°F and 60 minute cooking time, set to “Air Fry” not “Baking”. This pan comes with an accessory wire grill with a nice vertical handle, so getting the cake out is no problem, but I had to remove the deep fryer so it would be lower in the ‘basket’.
At 55 minutes it was perfect, the entire crust was golden, including under the foil and bottom of the cake, and the internal temperature was 175°F. I just bought a B&D air oven. This pot pie recipe calls for the knob to be temporarily set to 400F.
Why do all “air fry” recipes give cooking temperatures when they are not needed? The temperature control knob on my B&D oven is set to the “AIRFRY” setting….for air fry results. Setting it to a certain F means you’re baking the cake in a pan, not air-frying.
Question. What is the benefit of an air fryer if you are not eligible to use the Airfry setting? Heat a frying pan to 400F Cook the sausage patties at 400°F for six minutes, turning once during cooking for even cooking.
them! Make sure your food is always thoroughly prepared. We recommend… Pancakes are truly magical when cooked in a deep fryer. It’s a big, heavy, dense product that, due to its size (here on a large pie), can take a while to cook halfway through.
You can cook at 400F and the time will be shorter; indeed, the original recipe said users were reporting that the high heat burned their crust, so we adjusted it to a lower temperature for longer cooking.
Also, my oven says to toast sliced bread, you select the toast mode, then turn the knob on the bottom (toaster control I think) to “Last and past 20 toasts, then menu of settings”. But it’s very confusing because the bottom button doesn’t have a time setting (20 or whatever), just a lot of graphics about the toast being ready.
There’s 20 in the timer settings, but isn’t that because you can do 5 minutes or 7 minutes or 3 minutes? The other button is used for F degrees or air fry. Question. Do you know what B&D means by turning the “20 BREADS OVER AND BETWEEN” knob?
I have both a NuWave and a Gourmia Air Fryer. To make Marie Callender’s 15 oz chicken nuggets, I used Gourmia. I rolled the ends as suggested, preheated the air fryer to 360 degrees, then baked the pit pies for 45 minutes after cooling.
It turned out great. The skin is golden brown and crispy and the inside is perfectly cooked. Thanks for showing the way. You are all judged by the fan you own. These instructions worked great for me and the fan I have along with the others in this review.

The best part is that I don’t need to use foil. When using an air fryer, you should follow everything until you feel comfortable using it. Preheat Fan When ready, set temperature to 400F and cook for seven minutes, stirring for 3-4 minutes.
This has to be one of the most transformative fan recipes I’ve tried so far. If you cook these samosas according to your microwave instructions, you’ll end up with soggy, greasy, and mushy little triangles. Cook… Preheat Air Fryer Set temperature to 400F and set timer for 8 minutes While cooking, gently toss corn sausage.
Yes, you read that right. That’s a technical term, guys. One quick shake is all you need here, no oil or… I try to create recipes from an “I only have an air fryer, can I make this?” perspective.
, but a little microwaving for baked goods is definitely a thing. nice time saver ? I would personally like to thank you for doing the research. I love your feedback!! I’ve made a t-shirt a few times based on your suggestion and it always turns out perfect.
I only cook one dish for my child’s lunch. I find it easier than preheating the oven for a small cake. Thanks again Stuart!!! Your guide is perfect. I tried to cover the edges of the crust according to the instructions, but after a few minutes the foil came off.
Laugh. So I baked my cupcake without the foil and it was still pretty good. Thank you Preheat the fan Set the temperature to 400F and set the timer for 10 minutes Pour the cooking water over the dishes, add a layer to the roasting basket.
Turn the dishes after 5 minutes Use the fan to cook. These vegetable dishes are day and night. experience. Outside the oven, they cannot avoid a sentimental love affair. Hot… Actually, a fan is not the *best* tool for baking, but it will work.
I try to write instructions for everything I can, like someone’s oven is broken. or they don’t want to enable the function just for muffins; these instructions may work. However, frozen and solid anything. it takes some time for the air fryer to cook.
Foods that air fry are smaller, thinner things, preferably with oil already in place, think French fries, fried onions, tender chicken, etc. Can you make a pot pie in a fan? Right! do you need Well, that’s a bit more complicated.
While the fan certainly speeds up the cooking process compared to a regular oven, I wouldn’t say it adds anything special to the finished product. Of course, if you don’t have an oven or don’t want to turn on the oven for one cake, an air fryer can save you a decent amount of cooking time.
Glad to help, hope it points you in the right direction. As you rightly point out, all pans are a little different, but most of them should be in the same yard, I’m a multi-award winning journalist and have covered dining in Utah for over fifteen years.
