Aside from its size, one of the first things you will notice about the smaller options is that their dials are slightly different from what we have come across in recent Portuguese Perpetual Calendars, which always shows the moon phase.

To complete the look, Santoni wears the watch on a black leather strap. The Portuguese Perpetual Calendar 42 is a little more than its name suggests. The diameter of the watch is 42.4 mm, and its thickness is 13.8 mm, which means that this is not a small watch by any means.
As I received from IWC, this watch wears like a tough, well-made timepiece. The material is very thick, but not too heavy, and the shape of the lugs makes me think that they are designed for stability.
This is important in my opinion, especially considering the thickness of the watch is up to 14 mm. If you have worn a thicker automatic watch, you may feel like you are wearing a wobbly on your wrist, and this is not the case.
Portugieser 42 retains the text’s main features. Wide arched lugs and slim bezel (although still very high) continue masculinity to the design, while the Santoni leather straps are the pinnacle of masculine accessories – certainly some of the best in the business.
Portugieser Perpetual Calendar
The sample shows some cracks on the surface of the leather, which is odd, but I’ll chalk this up to not being a customer. The date, day and month phase disc is opened by a disc on the opposite side of the movement, in the dial plate.
As you can see, all the functions are preserved by the round diamonds (the age slide and the disc on the outside of the movement) or by the beautiful stones (date, date, program disc, moon phase).

While most people would classify this as a dress watch look, I think it’s more versatile than that, depending on whether you like to wear gold on a daily basis. Remember we are not talking about sports see here. But, the size fits Portugal, in my opinion. The strap of the Portugieser Perpetual Calendar is stunning and made by Santoni. I am a big fan of Santoni shoes and I am only guilty of my “sartorial” excess.

The functionality of the perpetual calendar is not difficult once you understand it. It all “revolves” around the program wheel. The depth of the grooves in the plate, many days passed. A close inspection of the grooves reveals the leap days.
The small grooves are responsible for jumping days in months with only 30 days. In a leap year, the date goes only 3 days (from 29 to 30, 31 & 1). The 3 deepest (3 years without jumping) are responsible for 4 days of jumping.

will fulfill the purpose of mentioning the life of a perpetual calendar). The advanced caliber of the calendar module with a night event The Portuguese “150 Years” Perpetual Calendar Edition is only available with a white lacquer dial, which I think makes sense given the level of
signs of goods. Don’t get me wrong, the monochromatic blue dial models look stunning, but they don’t offer as much contrast as the white dials, which I think would make the ‘busier’ watches more difficult.
