Despite the sudden closure of Palm Canyon Drive, Holmes decided to look for a purpose in the unused space. When he learned that Eisenhower Medical Center was doing little in the way of protective gear, he helped make protective gear for those in need across the valley.

However, after 18 months of total closure, the Blue Room and staff are not confident the homes will reopen once the revenue used to fund the operation dries up. Palm Springs is home to two of the largest LGBTQ events.

Judy also raises several volunteers from the crowd to fight sexism on stage. A gay man, a straight brother, a straight woman and a lesbian face off in a battle royale. Her only diva instruction: make it sexy.

The Purple Room’s 1960s interior and roster of internationally renowned artists make it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. Fast forward to 2020 and this classic nightclub has become a hot spot for the desert community.
When the pandemic hit in early March, the Purple Room was blindsided and eventually forced to close, as was the entertainment district. Eras crashes in her purple room, the child of forbidden love in the 1960s and the present.

Holmes has been mastering show(wo) skills for decades. She creates an arsenal of wigs to be Bette Davis, Pearl Bailey and Judy Garland…in all their glory. I always wanted variety. I think that’s the best thing.
From jazz greats like Grammy Award winner Diane Schur to film and Broadway stars to comedy stars like Marilou Henner and Lady Bunny. We have a variety of talent that appeals to almost everyone. Sue Cameron and Lucy Arnaz came up with an idea: Why don’t they fundraise for the Purple Room?
Frank’s Bourbon Bar
The community has shown this venue with so much love and attention during the pandemic and this has been a means of reviving the club. After some hesitation, Holmes accepts your help. And to his surprise, the community showed unexpected support: more than $150,000 in donations (the group’s GoFundMe is still live and currently stands at $170,000).
Michael Holmes added comedy to the musical’s appeal, creating hit songs with vaudeville aplomb. He rings them up, charges them onto the trolley, takes them over the rainbow, and ties them up again and again with his signature brimstone.
When your toes split, finally, the journey is over: you’ve been transported to another history with Judy Garland. The Purple Room Palm Springs has launched Frank’s Bourbon Bar, offering more than 50 rare premium bourbon flights, including the ultra-exclusive and limited-edition Pappy Van Winkle from Kentucky’s Buffalo Trail Distillery.

Space is limited in the Purple Room. This allows you to see key themes up close and personal. Audience members and entertainers tell me time and time again how much they love the beautiful energy shared here.
In February, we celebrate our mid-century architecture and design during Modernism Week. It will feature exclusive parties, seminars, tours and more. But don’t worry, if you can’t make this event, check out Modernism in October. We opened at the end of August 2021.
Film Festivals
Although many entertainers have been out of work for nearly two years, many have found it difficult to wait to perform again. Since we opened, there has been an increase/opening of COVID cases and many entertainers have decided to postpone or cancel their performances, most flights.

year kicks off awards season with the Palm Springs International Film Festival in early January.
March – American Documentary Film Festival and Native FilmFest. May brings the Palm Springs Film Festival, a series of noir classics and lectures. June – Palm Springs International Short Film Festival, featuring over 300 short films.
Every year in September – Cinema is a diverse LGBTQ film festival. I look forward to every story in the purple room. Many of these great talents who have worked in the entertainment business for years are also great friends.
Summer Fun
From Rose Mallett, Darcy Daniels, Charles Herrera and Sharon Sills, to our weekly entertainer, to internationally known greats like Marilyn Maye, Lucy Arnaz, Billy Stritch and more, I have personal relationships with them. I admire their incredible talent and they believe in my values.
Imagine if the Rat Pack had sexual fluid. Samantha Davis Jr. And Frank Sinatra maintains his beehive status in the VIP booth. My primary concern is the 35 employees who have become the Purple Room family.

And the huge response from the community and entertainment brought us all to our feet. For those who work and perform here all the time, I feel the Purple Room is a bit magical. As far as I know, most of our community feels the same way.
It’s one of the best feelings in the world, to know the value of a community, to appreciate what you’ve spent your life on. There’s a group on this cat’s grave that says, “If it’s a boy, you can’t b*th.”

Judy introduces listeners to a variety of Hollywood characters from a catalog of famous controversies. For example, a woman in the audience plays the role of Doris Day, who has not lost her love for Judy.
