When it’s over, you’ll feel like you got your money’s worth. For whatever reason, before starting weight training, start with a 3-minute abdominal warm-up (after the body warm-up). To be clear, this is more of a cardio weight routine that will really burn your muscles, but probably won’t produce significant gains due to the short amount of time spent on each muscle part and the overall length of the workout.

If you want to build bigger muscles, lean your program more towards strength training. For example, spend the first day on the arms and back, the second day on the stomach and chest, and the third day on the legs, hips and buttocks.

The remaining three days focus on cardio, such as swimming, stair climbing, hill running, circuit training, or plyometrics. Adding high-intensity interval training to your cardio three to five days a week can increase the intensity of your workouts and burn more calories in less time, according to Harvard Health Publications.

Looks like a good hot sauce. But it’s plyo, cardio, dumbbells, push-ups, abs…it’s a cardio potpourri! Each step lasts 20 seconds with a 10 second rest. It is divided into exercises, so each exercise is usually repeated 4 times before moving on to the next.

And even better news… someone gave Tom a stopwatch. A circuit starts with abs, so you’ll probably only have 15 minutes of actual leg work at the end of it all. This is done by squatting, lunging, lifting and some stability ball in a series of movements that are repeated twice.

A good leg warm-up in a push, but you won’t do any athletics with it. The stability ball is definitely not one of my strong points. But I have to do it where it has to be, it’s a good core exercise right after abs and back.

Tom does a much better job of explaining the tutorial here than C&B, so hopefully this is a sign of better things to come. Some people need a calendar or planner that covers all the details of their exercise plans.

Power 90 featured music that sounded like it was made for a K-Mart porn shoot, extremely low-budget sets, and a timing track that sounded like it was made on a Commodore 64. So it’s safe to say that Supreme 90 is a great app.

To Power 90 for pure aesthetics. But it’s not even close to P90X. Did you include yourself in the video? I completed this before doing P90X and it made the transition much easier when I started P90X.

It’s a great investment at $20. I agree there are mistakes in the video (they even cut out a chest/back set) but Tom Holland is a great host (much better than Tony Horton who can’t listen to it).

I liked the results of the training. With this calendar you can create your training program for the whole year. You may need to use codes or symbols to describe the exercise programs you should be doing each month.

When creating a workout plan, there are other things to consider, such as availability. Think about your regular schedule. Do you have a full-time job? Are you in charge of family affairs? Do you have other responsibilities besides your duties and responsibilities?

Tom is an acceptable host, but I wouldn’t put his expertise anywhere near Tony’s. Yes, Tony has a personality that you either love or hate, but that’s the case with everyone. Some days I wake up with Tony and some days I don’t want to work with him anymore.

Outside of my mixed schedule, I probably only deal with Mr. Horton once or twice a week. You couldn’t agree more (from the perspective of a retired US Army 1SG, master fitness instructor, and basically someone who has spent the last 30 years keeping fit).

I don’t care about music or production values. This is a fitness routine. If you can’t keep up, get in better shape. I actually used P90-X and it is harder! Most of the speed is to die for (think heart) 🙂 And for $20.00 Horton should keep his $100 DVDs.

Unfortunately, reviews like this one (written by Horton fans) basically put them out of business. Shoulders and arms are what you can expect from different curls and presses. Nothing special, although the music sometimes makes me feel like I’m back in the 70s.

All in all a good DVD and a serious improvement on the chest and back. Obviously, this criticism is based on 3 things. Sports is just one of them. The other two are music and production.

Producers are people in the background, sound and editing. So two-thirds of this score is not important when judging an exercise. Practice is education. This is what really matters. If other DVDs thought as well as this DVD, I would definitely increase my review score accordingly.

It gives you better timing, explanation, and mostly music. It’s like someone shot the previous director or at least took over his body. It was surprisingly challenging because moves like Stab Ball Pikes and Ski Abs really made me work.

Some of the cafe music was a little corny, but hey, it’s $20, right? Overall, a solid basic routine. Got my best 90 day workout for $5 at Sports Authority. I’m 67 and have mild joint pain so I can’t keep up with these young models, but from these DVDs to incorporate exercise variations into my slow routine using 10,15,20,25,30 sets and 40 pound dumbbells.

Tom Holland covers these exercises so I think this kit is a goldmine of information. Check out Tom Holland’s credentials – he’s a fitness dynamo. By confusing my muscles, my body can’t “plateau” or get stuck doing a routine every day.

These plateaus usually prevent me from shedding excess body fat or gaining muscle mass, no matter how hard I train. It’s no secret that I really don’t like Cardio X and find it to be the weak point of P90X, so I’m looking forward to seeing what Tom brings to the table.

The good news is that this particular workout is far superior, though nowhere near Insanity. On Amazon’s link page (which Holland’s own site also links to), the Supreme 90 is now $79.99. I know results are important, but this is something made for something very cheap.

Ultimately, despite the build flaws, I have to pass this on for value. If it was more expensive, I would downgrade accordingly. For example, if it was the same price as P90X, I would give it 2 pens.

But for someone new to the world of fitness videos, it’s an affordable way to see if you even want to exercise in front of the TV. But after that, I suggest we move on to something more basic and better.

I challenge you to try again at your speed and do 8-12 reps with heavy weight. I love P90X, but I prefer the legs workout from Supreme 90 to the Legs & Back workout from P90X.
