Ut Arlington Academic Calendar – The academic calendar is a source of information on important dates, including registration deadlines, final exam dates and student holidays/campus closures. The university’s academic calendar contains important dates for all terms and sessions of the academic year.

Academic calendar dates are subject to change. Employees assigned to work at least 20 hours per week for at least 4.5 consecutive months are entitled to vacation. This does not include positions that require student status as a condition of employment.

Holiday Leave

Depending on the number of holidays in the financial year, the leave schedule may include floating leave. If included in the vacation schedule, full-time employees will receive 8 hours of variable vacation leave per award. Part-time employees will receive a prorated amount based on the number of hours assigned to work per week.

Floating leave must be used in the fiscal year in which it is granted. Unused floating leave will be carried over to the next financial year. Unused floating leave will be paid at the time of separation (including transfers from government agencies).

Floating Holiday

Specific calendars, such as the grade reporting schedule and dynamic course dates, can be found on the UTA website under the Office of the Registrar’s Calendar section. There will be a small number of classes that will be allowed to start or finish at non-standard times.

However, all classes associated with a semester will begin and end during that semester. Tuition calculations, financial aid, and enrollment processes are based on classes taken during the assigned semester. The number of annual holidays that a public institution is allowed to celebrate is determined according to the National and State Holidays listed in 2005.

662.003 of the Texas Government Code, including when those holidays fall during a calendar week. Holidays falling on weekends are not included in the annual total. Higher education institutions are given the flexibility to create their own timetables.

U.T. The system marks the same number of holidays as other government bodies, but the dates may differ. The legislature declared Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Good Friday and Cesar Chavez Day non-obligatory holidays. An employee entitled to public holiday may use available leave by working any holiday when additional manpower is required or by using accrued leave.
