Uw Law Calendar – State law states that any student whose academic requirements conflict with religious practices (which may include travel time) must be given an alternative to meet the academic requirement. There are many valid claims and no practical, fair or legal means of evaluating individual claims.

Note that Ramadan falls from March 22 to April 21 this year. Muslim students observing Ramadan fast from dawn to dusk during the last month of the school year. Please extend as much flexibility as possible to these students.

:            Religious Observance and Election Day Policy and Guidelines The establishment of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Academic Calendar is the responsibility of the faculty as required by faculty policies and procedures. The construction of the academic calendar is governed by various rules and guidelines set forth by the Board of Governors, the Faculty Senate, and Wisconsin State Legislation.

The UW Academic Calendar, which provides multi-year information, is useful for the first day of classes (fall semester only) and vacation dates, but does NOT provide accurate orientation information about the law school on the last day of law classes.
