The Cal Aggie Alumni Association of the University of California, Davis announced today (March 2) the recipients of the 2023 Alumni Award. This year marks the 50th year of honoring the achievements and achievements of distinguished alumni and friends of UC Davis.

Hurlston and his wife, Joelle Hurlston ’89, met as students on campus and today support several initiatives at UC Davis. Hurlston serves on several public company boards, the UC Davis Dean’s Advisory Councils for the College of Engineering and the Graduate School of Management, and the UC Davis Board of Trustees.
Thesis/Dissertation Filing Deadlines For Students Not On Filing Fee Status
Fee-paying students are expected to be close to completion by the end of the fee-paying quarter. Students who register by the 7th week of the quarter are included in the current term list. Students who register after the 7th week have until the last day of classes to submit their proposal, essay or project report.

Students who complete Master’s Plan II on probation have until the last day of the quarter to submit their final report. In 2015, he created the Michael Campbell Leadership Award to recognize outstanding college leaders in agriculture.
He led six years with his classmates to create the Class of 1968 Gateway at the corner of Howard Way and Russell Boulevard. He currently serves in the Cabinet of the Chancellor’s Club. Campbell is a graduate of the California Agricultural Leadership Program and served as a 1982-1983 White House Fellow in Washington, D.C.
He previously received the inaugural CAAA Young Alumnus Award and the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Award of Distinction. Master’s Plan II or MFA students must complete their final requirements by the last day of the quarter to be included in the quarter’s degree list.

Graduates must submit Master’s Plan II or MFA Reports within five business days of the end of the quarter. Students who would like to receive a Letter of Acceptance for Graduate Studies must also submit a Notice of Withdrawal Form to their Graduate Assistant to be signed and sent to SAA for Graduate Studies.
Pangestu continues to bring his expertise and collaborative spirit to UC Davis. In April, he was a keynote speaker at a symposium on Achieving Sustainable and Inclusive Development. Pangestu shared the current focus of the World Bank and led several sessions at the camp with students and teachers.
His passion and commitment to advancing international education and solving educational and health challenges has been instrumental in strengthening the partnership between Indonesia and UC Davis. Students completing a thesis or dissertation have two final options each quarter.
Students who register by the 7th week of the quarter are included in the current term list. Students who register after the last 7 weeks but before the last day of the quarter are included in the next quarter’s degree list, but do not want to be a student in the next quarter.

Lifetime Achievement Award C Bryan Cameron
To promote excellence and help make things happen, Mr. Cameron volunteers on nonprofit boards, including serving on the Chancellor’s Advisory Board since 2014, providing expertise on key issues affecting the University. He established two endowed chairs at UC Davis – the first in 2006 for the Department of Economics and named the C. Bryan Cameron Distinguished Chair in International Economics.
In 2019, he created the C. Bryan Cameron Presidential Chair in Neuroscience to advance understanding of serious mental illnesses and advance the development of new treatments. Vanderhoef, a former elementary school teacher and the wife of the late UC Davis Chancellor Emeritus Larry Vanderhoef, has served at UC Davis for nearly 40 years and benefits more than 20 campus communities.
In 2016, he founded the Bryan Cameron Education Foundation to inspire young people to contribute to their communities and society. To date, the foundation has awarded 105 college scholarships to high school students across the country.
Lessons that meet on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays must schedule one additional lesson before November 25. Timing may be at the discretion of the professor or in consultation with the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.

“The 2023 honorees will change the world around them and exemplify values that support UC Davis and our community.” King serves as the deputy director of government relations at Catalyst California, a non-profit organization that promotes racial justice by building capacity and changing public practices.
He directs statewide legislative, budget and administrative agencies in Sacramento. Pangestu has had a global impact over 30 years of work in academia, government and international organizations. He is a professor of international economics at the University of Indonesia and recently retired from the World Bank where he was in charge of development policy and relations.
He also served as Minister of Trade and Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy in Indonesia. At the School of Education, his leadership and support provided educational opportunities for future teachers and brought international recognition to the teacher education program.
Among his many other accomplishments, he helped promote a program that links the school to international education, an information center that is affiliated with Shakespeare’s Globe Theater in London. He is also a big fan of athletics, including building the UC Davis Health Stadium.
At UC Davis, King continues his advocacy work. He is a board member of the College of Letters and Science Government and Public Policy Alumni Group, a mission-driven group focused on advancing UC Davis students and alumni seeking careers in public policy through social networking, professional development
, and scholarship opportunities. . King is also the chair and founding member of the College of Letters and Science Young Alumni Network. They are determined to pay them back and help other young graduates succeed in the ever-growing workforce.
Cameron spent his professional career at investment management firm Dodge & Cox, retiring in 2021 as Vice President and Director of Equity Research. His leadership, compassion and commitment to UC Davis will transform the university’s research and higher education for years to come.
