Hempstead Schools Calendar – I really like my teachers at Cornwell, I like the school district, and I like the activities we get to do here because we have so many fun things to choose from. I like to draw, play Roblox, and play in the snow with my aunt in the winter.

I like Cornwell Avenue because the teachers here are very good and they believe in us a lot. I love West Hempstead because it has so many beautiful things like houses and sunsets. I have been at West Hempstead for about 16 years and during those years it was my passion to work with early elementary students and develop their foundational skills.

West Hempstead has always given me this opportunity to shape the young minds of our community. Teaching at West Hempstead High School is more than a “job.” Since I started working here in September, I have been made part of the family of teachers and students.

When things happen in the community, good or bad, students and teachers come together in a really strong way. I love the school community in West Hempstead, especially here on Chestnut Street. I love co-teaching, I love working with my teacher, and I love the family environment.

You can ask anyone for anything. All support from top to bottom. It’s really nice to be here. It all starts with the people of West Hempstead, both adults and students. At Cornwell, there is a positive atmosphere throughout our building.

Whether you are a student or a teacher, everyone is eager to get work done. I love many things in West Hempstead, but my favorite things about West Hempstead are the public library and the Chestnut Street School.

My favorite class is art and studying with my best friends is really fun. I love Cornwell because I’ve been here for three years and I’m really used to all the good teachers in this school.

Every time the teacher greets me, I feel happy because we all know each other so well. I love my teachers at George Washington. If you get stuck on something, they will find time to help you.

We have many books to choose from to stimulate interest in reading. We have a strong school community that encourages students to think in teams, think individually and use past knowledge and workshops to build a strong knowledge base for what they can do in the future.

Studying at Cornwell is really fun. I like to spend a lot of time reading with our friends. We have lots of great activities like art club and outdoor sports. It was a really fun experience.

There is great excitement in the school community. We get a lot of support from our teachers and principal at George Washington. Our teachers really give us many opportunities to have fun while learning. I love all the teachers and friends I’ve met here and I’ve had so many great memories here.

Cornwell is a truly special place where I have made many good friends and met older people. It is a very pleasant environment to learn and grow. Whether it’s STEM, art, music, or any other discipline, there’s always a place to start and develop your skills.

We have a lot of events here and our school does a great job of bringing the community together. It makes reading easier for me every time we learn new sight words on Chestnut Street. I already know how to read many children’s books and read them to my little brother.

I really appreciate the faculty and staff here. They are like friends and family to you. I look forward to helping freshmen and high school students because I feel like it’s time to give back. I think the teachers and staff here are very professional, caring and come together to support each other.

It’s great to see like-minded people supporting each other and coming together as a great community among our students. I like Chestnut Street because I can play with my friends and study. I love sports in my gym because we play different games and I love learning different subjects every day.

I like working out in my gym at school and playing sports. I love our new playground because I spend more time outside with my friends. It is also nice to learn something new every day from my teacher.

I like to come to school because I love to study, I spend most of my time here with my friends and I can make new friends here. My favorite subject is science and I enjoy being a member of the Art Club at Cornwell.

I really appreciate the support we get from the staff. Personally, as a student, I am very involved in clubs, sports, and after school activities… I hope to get back into the community this year. The staff at George Washington is like family.

In addition, our students are very loving, caring and appreciative of everything we do for them. West Hempstead is a very special place. If you need something, there is always someone to help you. In West Hempstead, I love the summertime because I can see the New York Mets.

I see snow in winter, I play outside. My favorite activity at Chestnut is my gym class because we do different sports. One of the best things I love about West Hempstead is seeing all my friends.

When I’m with my teachers, they help me learn and become smarter every day, and we can have fun. As a professional violinist
with a background in classical performance and jazz violin, Colleen Bennett began studying violin at the age of 4 through the Suzuki Technique.

Ms. Bennett has performed with a number of orchestras and is excited to join the district as an orchestra teacher. I think this is a special place because of the community at George Washington, and we value the individual needs of all students.

As a reading teacher, we were able to develop each student’s interest in literature, and I think this is a good place. I am very fortunate to work in West Hempstead, especially at Chestnut Street School.

We are truly a family, staff and students included. Everyone is very welcoming and supportive of each other. The halls are always full of smiles and laughter. In particular, I love the diversity of students and staff and how everyone here creates a welcoming and friendly environment.

In addition, there is much for students and staff.
