Student Life

There is a PELL Recalculated Semester Date. Enrollment by this date determines the PELL award amount you are eligible to receive. Courses added after this date will not be considered for PELL award. Similarly, courses dropped before this date will not be considered for PELL award.

The 23SP Pell calculation date is February 15. The inventory dates are the dates when the financial aid is approved. A snapshot of your course schedule, degree program showing and dates of enrollment/attendance will help you qualify for the award.

Exceptions – See the “Pell Recalculation Date” section above for eligibility rules. Invest in yourself. No trust fund is required. Value and diversity are hallmarks of SCC education. You can tackle the problem of higher education here without fear of falling into a pile of debt.

Grants are based on approved credit hours and financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA). FA Letter Submission for your full-time award show. If you enroll in less than 12 credit hours, your PELL fee will be applied as shown in the table below.

Community Resources

Fees will be posted based on hours of enrollment outside of EFCs where the fee will be $0 (see table below). Your EFC can be found on the Student Aid Report on the Student Aid website.

All dates are subject to the latest catalog unless otherwise specified. Colleges/Institutions may change the commencement dates to accommodate special circumstances. The dates listed below refer to the traditional academic year. Some courses may be offered if these dates are not available.

If the first term registration occurs after the first PELL calculation date, then PELL eligibility will be determined by the last add/drop date of the first module registration date. See “Deadline to add a class” under “Mini-Master Dates” in the Online Class Calendar.

Be sure to complete the correct FAFSA for the school year you will be attending. The school year starts in the fall and ends in the summer. If you are applying for financial aid for the 2023 term, you will need to complete the 2022-2023 FAFSA.

Spring Pell Recalculation Dates

Be sure to add your FAFSA school code: 017027. Without the school code, SCC will not be able to access your FAFSA.
