One Word 2023

One Word 2023 – Maybe you love resolutions (like me). Or maybe you feel discouraged because you’ve made and broken too many decisions in the past. Or maybe you don’t like the idea of ​​committing to a resolution or think a January 1st resolution seems arbitrary.

My word for 2023: Focus. The past four years have been filled with changes, including several moves and health challenges. Fatigue, brain fog and a general lack of motivation threw off my writing. As the new year approaches, I’m happy to report that I’m re-energized and ready to move forward and achieve my writing goals.

Here’s hope! Think about where you are now and where you want to be. What are your goals? What do you want to focus on? Write those ideas down. You may start to see some words emerge from this exercise.

Will you choose a one word or phrase theme for the year? It’s a surprisingly fun way to think about what we want from next year and generate ideas to achieve those goals. My word for 2023 is HEALING.

2022 has been a very difficult health year, even before I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November. We caught it early and I had surgery just before Christmas, but 2023 is about healing every part of my body and my spirit.

Choose two very different words for your first two guesses. This is straight from the New York Times. If your first answer doesn’t contain many clues, it may help to start over with a new word with all new letters.

Of course, it will also increase your total score, so it really depends on how confident you are that you can solve the puzzle. I’ve shared this list before, but this year when I went through the list and thought and asked for my one word, the word that kept coming to mind was something that wasn’t on this list.

One Word Ideas

Do not use the plural. Wordle does not use plurals of three or four letter words ending in ES or S. So the answer will never be GIFTS or BOX. You can enter them as guesses, but they will never be right.

Exceptions are words with irregular plurals, such as GUSI or ZABI. Wordle does not repeat responses. Although there are approximately 13,000 five-letter words in the English language, fewer than 2,400 are approved for use in Wordle.

Currently, the game will not repeat any responses. So if you remember that DEATH appeared on July 10, 2021, don’t guess. Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with the body of Christ.

We are many parts of one body and we all belong to each other. (Romans 12:4-5 NLT) Go through the list below and choose 3-5 words that capture what stood out to you during this exercise.

What do you really want for yourself and others? Circle the words that jump off the page at you. Or, if another word comes to mind, write it down. God, I need your help. The distractions that steal my focus are so powerful.

Give me strength and guidance to replace these distractions with You. Give me peace and patience to wait and trust the freedom process. I know you will walk beside me on this adventure. Fortunately, some wise people have reminded me that, like some of the characters I write and many writers I know, I need to have faith in myself. With faith in yourself, 2023 will be a year of progress.

Normally I don’t even attempt a solution or have a specific goal. But this one came out of the comment, and I decided to let it live. Wish me luck – how a lucky heart doll makes everything better.

I’m not quite sure where I’m going with these thoughts and what my word for 2023 will be, but I’ve added a few words (as a craft) to the list as I’ve thought about these things.

Lord, I know he created me for a community. Even the Trinity, the Godhead, is in communion, three in one. Adam and Eve had intercourse with you. I have communion with you. I know you left the greatest commandment – Love God and love others as you live and the great commission – go make disciples why we live.

Give me the people you want me to love and share your truth with. Help me make difficult decisions to make room for the people you have in mind for me. This is a good reminder of what all of us writers need to look out for in 2023. I’ve been in a slump with my writing for a while due to anxiety.

It hasn’t stopped, but I’m trying to believe that I shouldn’t lose my love for writing because of the situation I’m in right now. The quote is wonderful. Thanks for always being there for all the writers.

This choice came after 20 years of being an online brick and mortar store. I didn’t know what the next chapter would be for me or my business, but I knew it was time to make a change.

Heavenly Father I know you promise to be with me…ALWAYS. I know that I have the power of the Holy Spirit within me. I know that without you I can do nothing, but with you I can do anything you ask of me.

Help me remember who I am in Christ and the hope I have for the future. Maybe you’re more into New Year’s resolutions, and that’s great. I’m a little tired of one more thing. So for me, word choice gives room for the Holy Spirit to echo and work through
out the year.

Last year I narrowed my word of the year down to three words that were similar in my mind, but when I looked at the definitions I was surprised at how different they actually were!

I am totally happy with the word I chose for the year and I hope you choose the word you love! Reflect. After a month, you can think about your One Word and how it works for you.

Is it in line with your goals? If not, choose another word from your list. Don’t think you failed the One Word challenge. It just wasn’t right for you at the moment. Just pick another word and focus on it.

If your answer is a resounding “YES!!!” there you have your one word theme for 2023. Smile and pat yourself on the back for this achievement! Write down your one-word topic over the next few days – on a post-it note or index card.

Make a sign. Be as creative with this as you want – make a poster, or banner, or wallpaper for your phone or computer. Display your theme in one word where you can see it – on your fridge or in the bathroom, on the dashboard of your car or in your office.

Then think about the different areas of your life: business and career, personal development, wealth and finances, relationships and family, health and fitness, spirituality, entertainment and pleasure. Visualize how each of these areas is doing and answer the following questions: Through the Bible, God gives us the answers we desire as we cling to the hope that this year will be different from the last.

So let’s turn to His Word as we focus on guidance for the next twelve months, rather than resolutions that only last a few days. Let’s look to the Lord as we choose a specific theme, a word to help us intentionally live our faith in 2023. My mother was dying of breast cancer and my father struggled to see his wife of almost 50 years suffer.

I cared for them during her last weeks and COMPASSION gave me the guidance I needed to stay the course and be strong for both of us. Over the years, we’ve found that a one-word theme works best when it’s a word with multiple meanings and associations.

When I chose “Salt,” I had no idea how rich and complex that one-word theme would be. I believe such a theme gives purpose and meaning to your year and will motivate you to orient your life around that theme.

You can use your theme to guide your actions, your decisions, and your life. Last year the word FOCUS was my driver. I took a blog that was getting 6,000 visitors per month to over 300,000 visitors.

FOCUS helped me triple my YouTube following. FOCUS helped me create online courses. According to Merriam-Webster, the word horse refers to “a large herbivorous ungulate with strong hooves, domesticated since prehistoric times and used as a beast of burden, draft, or for riding.”
