Ratha Yatra, the chariot festival of Lord Jagannatha takes place every year in Puri, the temple city of Orissa on the east coast of India. From the late 1960s Rath Yatra started being celebrated all over the world in different cities due to the ‘Hare Krishna Movement’. On the first day of the procession, the Raths of the Gods reach the Gundicha temple and remain there for the next seven days.
