The reason for this is the large crowd.

If you haven’t figured out yet that summer is a busy time, you haven’t read anything I’ve written. The basic idea behind this is that if you are planning a vacation and the hours during your planned stay are longer, it is a sign that Disney is expecting bigger crowds.
What Are Crowds Like On Least Crowded Days?
That’s why it’s imperative to make reservations in advance to secure your spot at some of Disney’s top restaurants. Certain restaurants are harder to book and traveling at peak times means there will be more demand for full restaurants.
We recommend that you book in advance as soon as possible (60 days). Summer is the worst time to visit Disney World. That’s because EVERY school is on vacation and EVERY family is traveling. These months are usually June, July and August.
Spring break is also very coordinated with the schools as it is held every year. The only difference is that they are spread out over March and April because they don’t all take off in the same week (although we wish they did).
This makes these months a bit harder to navigate. Are you an expert on Disney World crowds? Does it take you so long to have perfect days and weeks? We want to hear from you! We love to share our experience and knowledge, but we also love the opinions of our readers.
The Rest Of Never Give Up
Leave a comment or send us an email and let us know what you think. If something is amazing, we will definitely add it to our post! Some of the biggest weeks/weekends at Walt Disney World are RunDisney events.
This includes several half marathons and marathons spread throughout the calendar year. While they are fun to attend, they certainly draw a crowd. We are talking about thousands and thousands of additional people in the parks.
They usually appear a few days before the races and remain for a few days after. If you can avoid these events, do so at all costs. Be sure to check the runDisney calendar to see when they take place.
On less crowded days in the parks, you may find that you can walk right through the line for at least a few rides in parks that fill up quickly. Many medium rides will have a wait of around 10-15 minutes, with the most popular attractions such as roller coasters having a wait of around 30 minutes.

Dining is usually easy to obtain, with a short wait for quick table service and even same-day reservations at some table service locations. If the NBA plays the playoffs at Disney World again, the parks won’t be full for those events, but Disney has cut some of the rooms for players, coaches and their families to stay.
Don’t expect another “bubble” to happen, but anything is possible right now. If you’re waiting for bookings to open for your travel dates, keep checking back! Disney is constantly adjusting park availability, and it’s entirely possible that park capacity will increase this summer.
While no one can say for sure that a parking permit will become available for the desired date and parking, there is a higher than average chance that availability will change following a future trip. On the other hand, if you have a trip coming up and haven’t secured your Park Pass reservations, it’s in your best interest to do so, so you’ll have one less thing to worry about on your vacation checklist.

From our experience, we think it’s fun to be among the first, but not everyone feels that way. We are prepared to face huge crowds and long waits to make this happen. If you’re just a regular park-goer who wants a fun vacation with fewer crowds, you’ll want to skip these events by scheduling your trip before or after or avoiding the park where it’s happening.

To help you plan your trip, our People Calendar page now shows whether Park Pass bookings are available for each day of your trip. For each park and day there is a box with the letters “RPT”.
The letters are colour-coded: red means Park Pass bookings are not available and green means they are available. In helping TouringPlans.com continue to make the most accurate audience predictions, Steve has finally found a way to combine his training in statistical analysis with his lifelong passion for Disney.
He first visited the Magic Kingdom in 1972, just months after it opened. Now she enjoys frequent trips with her two children. At age four, his son insisted on wearing cowboy boots t
o reach the height required for the test track, and his daughter thinks a smoked turkey leg and a Dole Whip make a perfectly balanced meal.
Although he doesn’t really realize it, Steve’s wife supports his Disney activities. Halloween is an interesting holiday because Disney has been celebrating it for many months (in 2019 it started at the end of August!). The holiday itself is a full day.
Crowds At Each Disney Theme Park
October generally sees bigger crowds as people attend Magic Kingdom’s Not So Scary Halloween parties, but they tend to focus on just that park. More on that in a minute. Our Disney World Crowd Calendar helps you find the best time to visit the Disney theme parks in 2023. Lower crowds mean less time waiting in line and more time to enjoy your vacation.
The crowds at Walt Disney World vary throughout the year, so it’s very important to choose your dates carefully. Festivals are big at Disney World, especially at Epcot, which hosts the International Food and Wine Festival, the International Festival of the Arts, and the International Flower and Garden Festival.
Food & Wine usually runs from early fall through the first week of November. This is probably the biggest event they have attended and has become a tradition for many Disney Park fans. Opening week and final week are the two busiest.
Weekends in this park, starting from Friday to Sunday, are always full of locals. Best to avoid this park at that time if you don’t like a party atmosphere. The last big event brings us back to the Magic Kingdom park for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, which runs from November to December.
Weather At Disney World
Like the Halloween parties, these are held 3-4 days a week and are a special ticketed event. The park will close early for guests, and the days they do tend to be much busier than others.
IF you’re on a crowded Disney World vacation, be sure to check out our day tour plans that can help you stay ahead of them and get a lot done in one day: Our Disney World Crowd Calendar Predicts Walt Disney
World crowds for every day of the next 12 months. Our ratings are broken down by Disney World theme park: Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom. Note that park hopping is back, which we think will spread the crowd out more than when it wasn’t available.
When there is only 1 park per day for everyone, certain parks will be busier than others. If you happen to pick a park that wasn’t crowded that day because everyone was at, say, the Magic Kingdom, you’re in.

However, in contrast, it is the worst. So bringing back the parking funnel option should help level out the parks starting around 3pm each day. Another annual event scheduled in the parks is the Candlelight Procession, held at Epcot each holiday season.
It draws large crowds who want to hear the celebrity guest and choir read and sing the traditional Christmas story. The likes of Neil Patrick Harris and Whoopi Goldberg are just a few of the celebrities who come to attend.
It’s a great tradition and you can see when this event is happening to attend or avoid the crowds. There are two cities in the US that are known for hosting some of the largest conventions.
One is Las Vegas and the other is, you guessed it, Orlando. Whether they are kept on property or not, they bring crowds of people who also bring their families to visit the parks. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is the convention epicenter on the property.
What Are Crowds Like On Most Crowded Days?
Their rooms are filling up and attendees are filling up the parks. The Swan and Dolphin resorts also host many conventions throughout the year and are generally not hotels we recommend. You can take their calendar of events to plan around them.
You can also find the general convention schedule of events for Orlando events. First, whenever school is out, the theme parks get busier. That doesn’t mean that when Roy Disney Jr. High has two days off from school, the parks will explode.
We mean the obvious times, including spring break, holidays, summer, and even fall holidays like Thanksgiving. Orlando, Florida is known for its beautiful weather. However, there are some seasonal differences that you may want to consider when booking your Disney vacation.
For example, August is historically the warmest month, while January is the coldest. July is usually the rainiest month and June has the most hours of sunshine. *** COVID-19: Disney has taken enhanced health and safety measures during the pandemic.
Should I Avoid The Parks On Most Crowded Days?
Reservations are now required to enter the theme park, and resort hotels, restaurants and other facilities are subject to change and capacity limitations. Beginning in January 2023, face masks are optional for guests at outdoor and indoor Disney locations and transportation.
Face coverings are not permitted while guests are in the water or on the slides.

The first 2 weeks of November are the only ones that do not follow this trend. When the holiday decorations go up, the first 2 weeks of November have extended hours, but you
really don’t see a huge crowd like Thanksgiving.
Park Pass Reservation Data
Sometimes, if you’re lucky, it’s the first week of December. These are the obvious times to avoid if you’re looking for a less crowded vacation. While this guide covers many of the details of choosing a date, there are other things to consider, so you may want to check out our Disney World Planning Guide, which answers many other questions about vacation preparation.

These can happen at any time of the year, but there are a few that are always scheduled in the Disney book and tend to draw more guests to the resort. The first are Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween parties held at the Magic Kingdom.
Over the years, this event has become something… scary. Several dates have been taken and virtually every one is sold out in advance. It runs from the end of August (before COVID) until October 31st. It doesn’t happen every day of the week, usually 3-4 times, and in the evening from 18 to the end.
It’s a special ticketed event, so the park closes for non-ticket holders, usually around 6-7pm. However, the event allows guests to enter the park in advance and tends to get crowded. Party dates can be found on the Disney Events Calendar.
Rating System For The Disney World Crowd Calendar
The art festival runs from January to February and is slowly becoming one of the most popular festivals due to its unique offering and of course the food. While the crowds aren’t too bad for it yet, we expect 2022 to be a big year for him, assuming things normalize due to COVID.
Weekends are still the best days to avoid for this festival. Disney did not say how it distributes park passes among the three groups. Also, Disney is not selling new annual passes, so the number of annual pass users is declining.
With fewer users able to maintain the limit of 3 reservations per passholder, it is becoming easier for passholders to make Park Pass reservations. In recent years there has been a new event that seems to happen more and more every year.
We’re talking Disney After Dark events that seem to take over every park and theme you can imagine. These are special ticketed events and run late at night until 1-2am. Although they don’t have a big impact on the crowds, we’d say people start showing up around 4-5pm and it can get busy then.
What Is Disney’s Park Pass Reservation System?
We’re going May 16-21, we couldn’t get HS parking…but it looks like it’s still open for AP holders…at what time do they allow day guests to take these spots? If you’re someone who wants to squeeze every ounce of Disney out of your vacation, you should always check the park schedule.
These vary by time of year, but can also be a good indication of when Disney “expects” the parks to be crowded. For example, in January and February, the opening hours of the park are shorter, on average between 9:00 and 20:00.
When planning a vacation to Disney World, there are a few things we consider. First, Disney World is never slow per se. It’s the most visited theme park in the world, so to say “slow” isn’t entirely true.
It will always be crowded here. With that in mind, there are ways to avoid the busier days, which is one thing. The days are also less crowded. For anyone who wants to dig even deeper, there is a company that has come up with a magic formula for calculating park crowding, largely based on historical data.
What Is A Crowd Calendar?
We’ll admit that history, while a solid place to pull data from, can change. For example, COVID-19. No one expected it, but it certainly changed the way people at Disney World operated. That said, for visual fans, this is a great option.
