I personally like how J’ouvert is organized a few days before Mas, because there is no rush or lack of sleep in between to prepare for the road. The season ends with an exciting two-day street parade, full of fun live bands and DJ music, amazing carnival costumes and the joyous and energetic merriment typical of Caribbean carnivals.

When Is St Kitts-Nevis Carnival?

Basseterre Bay is also served by regular scheduled ferries between Charlestown (Nevis) and Basseterre, with many daily crossings. The route is served by 6 ships. A ferry service is also offered between Oranjestad (Aruba Island), Statia (Sint Eustatius Island) and Basseterre, as well as Philipsburg (St Maarten), but with irregular routes.
