It’s funny, we’re from the same country, but I consulted them every month (or whenever they were released, anyway). The nearest LEGO store is 550 km from my place, so I can’t ask the employees about nearby promotions.

It would be a shame (and rather strange) if they only reimbursed for the calendar and nothing else. Well that’s a shame. I always looked forward to the last days of the month to check out the new online calendar and see what was in store for the next month.

This has always been a great way to keep up with GVP specials and VIP events. On the plus side, if Lego manages to update us through other channels, it might not be a huge loss.
Time will tell, I guess, but my first reaction is disappointment. LEGO is bringing back a LEGO fan favorite from January. Available March 4-24, LEGO VIP members will receive 40583 GVP Homes of the World with a minimum spend of $250 on all LEGO purchases.
The next GVP is a bit controversial as LEGO Lord of the Rings fans are expecting something a little more special for the launch of Rivendell. From March 5-7, LEGO VIP members will be able to tell LEGO @CCC: “They can’t seem to manage their supply chains well enough to plan ahead.”

If you’re a VIP, turn on notifications. If you don’t order on LEGO.com yet, you’ll always be asked if you’d like to receive emails about upcoming products and whatnot. So while it’s a shame to lose the calendar, if they give enough warning via email we should all be fine.

I think it’s understandable from their point of view, but of course it’s a shame for us who consult with them for promotions. However, I doubt that it will affect their sales, a lot of people buy without knowing that there is a calendar or a certain time of the year when it is best to buy.
Not a great start to the year for Lego IMHO. I always look forward to getting a modular at midnight, Safe in the knowledge that I will get a decent GVP for the amount I spend.
Not this January, but with the pathetic offers of polyester bags. And now this – strange. However, as long as they announce what the full month’s deals will be before the months start, then I don’t see a problem.
As others might say, I often decide when to buy based on how excited I am about GVP. And if they start promoting only the subscription model, then despise them. We’ll wait and see, but I think it will happen.

” The statement on LAN suggests that I have no plans to bring back the calendars, but they intend to update the LEGO store pages on LEGO.com more often with replacements. Ideally, LEGO would simply release a digital version of the calendar that could be quickly updated if any promotion required changes or cancellations.

It’s a business philosophy. If you treat your customers like they’re always wrong, you’ll soon have nothing left. They say it takes 3-4 positive experiences to counter one bad experience (most customer experiences are just neutral).
If the customer is already upset, pointing out how they screwed up just doubles down on that issue, and that will certainly be said to anyone who will listen. I see a lot of porn about it.
I can say that while I found the information in the journal valuable, I never physically handled it. So I relied on a system where Percy Tuesday came out, got the calendar, put it online, and then I had to hope that if any of that information ever changed, it would somehow be distributed back through the same channel
