Campus planners use a tool called the Optimizer to create classroom assignments on many of our campuses. This tool is especially useful on the Pullman campus, where there can be as many as 4,900 active sections per semester.
The optimizer uses the organization creation preferences to assign GUC classes based on the organization preferences. All eligible GUC premises must be in one of the four preferred lists or the optimizer will not assign a class.

The most important thing is that it is no longer necessary to create a separate section for one student taking the course remotely, while other students on campus are in a personal section. We have updated 25 live public searches for Pullman Campus.
Because it is difficult for 25Live to see adjusted capacity for COVID, these searches will find spaces of a certain capacity or higher. The search name tells the user the capacity of the room. For example: CV GUC 45+ will find GUC rooms with 45-49 seats (as 49 is still the maximum allowed capacity).
Spring Semester Calendar
We are accepting applications for different spaces starting 7/18/20/ for academic courses. We do not confirm places for events until further notice. LMS: Canvas class attribute is no longer active in course schedule tracking. Once you see it, you can delete it.
Tag your Canvas classes in the new LMS Maintain Course Spaces component. Find it at: myWSU > Main Menu > Curriculum Administration > Timetable > Manage LMS Course Facilities. Learn more about the new LMS components.

A new set of pages has been created to suit the student’s perspective. The student page in the COVID-19 planning section has been moved to this set. The new pages include: view the class schedule, understand the teaching mode, how students teach classes and exam information.
We have created a new OBIEE report to allow departments to visualize how many sections and students are enrolled by instruction mode. This new report is located in myWSU > OBIEE > WSU Enrollment Summary Reports > Enrollment Summary Reports Dashboard > Instruction Mode Summary Information.
The report contains “live” data from the previous evening. There is no option to view data for a specific date. Visit the Access and Training page to learn how to register for the next Schedule Builder training course and how to access the Schedule Builder programs on myWSU.

Updated Training Guides
Training is scheduled monthly, usually on the third Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Future dates are indicated on the application form. We’ve updated 25 live training guides in the right sidebar. NEW! We have created an event type for your room search event.
Use X DRAFT as the event type when creating a new room search event. All current room search events that used the 25L Pullman Academic Event have been updated. We were thrilled to see how many ward room search events there are!

The second section allows the user to view the teaching mode by term, campus, academic group, academic organization and subject. The drop down menu allows the user to change the options. In this section, the user can export a spreadsheet with data.
