Elkhart Schools Calendar – Elkhart High School is the proud home of over 3,400 students and 300 staff across our two campuses. With offerings at the elementary and middle school levels, as well as over 25 high school sports, ECS student-athletes proudly give their all to represent Elkhart. Find out more about ECS Athletics! Elkhart students have the opportunity to earn a college associate’s degree before graduating.

ECS currently offers more than 30 classes with college credit through Elkhart High School and more than 30 CTE programs that offer college credit or certification through the Elkhart District Career Center. Find out more about our university and career preparation.

ECS is home to the highly award-winning Elkhart District Career Centre. Serving more than 1,000 students from 16 district high schools with more than 30 CTE-based programs, EACC offers college credits and industry certification, while equipping students with internships, mock interviews and job fairs.

Elkhart High School offers the strongest AP (Advanced Placement) courses in northern Indiana, helping our students prepare for future success in college. EHS offers 20 AP courses in the arts, English, math, music, science, social sciences, and world languages.

A $630,000 grant from the Indiana Department of Education will help ECS bring new and talented teachers into classrooms, while also providing support to those already in the area seeking careers in education. Athletics is often a rallying point for a community, and Elkhart is no different.

The mission of the Elkhart High School Athletics Department is to instill a high level of expectation, sportsmanship and competitiveness that strengthens the body, develops the mind, strengthens the spirit, and enables our student-athletes, coaches, parents and fans to represent Elkhart.

Elkhart Community Schools is home to Northern Indiana’s first fully accredited early college program. The program is designed to show families that college is attainable and to give students the opportunity to complete college courses before high school graduation.

Each year, EHS student groups complete thousands of volunteer hours, including building playgrounds, downtown arts, special community events, food drives, public performances, and more.

We are proud of our EHS Lions as they understand the value of giving back to our community! EHS students on the main 10-12 campus participate in a rigorous curriculum and hands-on learning through EHS’s six Schools of Study, while students in the EHS Freshman Division focus on gaining the skills necessary to succeed in school.

In addition to teaching hands-on subjects such as personal finance, all ECS schools use a PRIDE rubric that recognizes positive student behavior in five areas of life readiness: persistence, respect, initiative, reliability and efficiency.

Learn more about college and career preparation. Elkhart High School students (grades 10-12) fall into one of six small learning societies based on their interests and career goals. In each training school, the curriculum and instruction are tailored to specific fields of study.

The six schools of study are Arts and Communications. business and international relations; Engineering, Technology and Innovation; health and public safety; Human Resources; and natural resources. Bullying prevention and mental health awareness discussion with other parents/guardians, school and community leaders and mental health professionals in the Elkhart First Grade Section from 6 pm to 7:30 pm on Thursday, February 23. This event is open to anyone in the community who wants to be involved in creating a safe environment and culture for our entire community, including students.
