Another unique service trend among educational institutions across the country is the establishment of LRRS during the rains of November 2015, which started providing food and clothing to the rain-affected people living in the slums of Chennai city.
Loyola Rain Relief Services had 30 employees, 250 active student volunteers, and a medical staff of 8 physicians providing medical treatment to approximately 1,750 flood victims living in the Loyola area. Through LRRS, a rain relief camp was started for graduate students to serve in rain affected areas especially those affected by Cyclone Gaga in November 2018.
Loyola has a strong commitment to shaping students through academic guidance. Faculty are specially trained to mentor young aspirants, support and resolve academic and personal problems, and help them successfully complete their studies. The college entered into an exceptional service by creating Loyola FM 107.4, a community radio frequency within a radius of 15 km. Through Loyola Community Radio, the college addresses various issues related to live broadcasting of various programs for transgender people, gypsies, widows, visually impaired, street vendors, slum dwellers, motorists etc.

Loyola College has set a nationwide trend in First Step to help students with diverse abilities. Resource Center for Differently Able People (RCDA) is a special facility with funding from UGC-HEPSN and National Institute of Visually Impaired (NIVH) of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
RCDA was chosen to serve as a Model Resource Center for Disability Services (MCDS), the first in the country to cater to the needs of differently abled students with specialized digital equipment and resources. Loyola offers tremendous financial aid to economically disadvantaged students.
Every semester, the college administration provides fee concessions to students from poor families through Jesuit Educational Support (JES). In 2018-19, the college released about Rs 1.60 crore as administrative fee concession to 2,600 students.
