The safety of our students is our priority. That’s why every Pickerington school is required by law to conduct an annual drill to ensure our students and staff are prepared for emergencies. Districts charge students for supplies and consumables, including consumable subscriptions or licenses, used as instructional materials.
These fees are usually posted on the Infinite Campus parent portal a few weeks after school starts. (This suspension allows students to change courses at the middle and high school levels.) The district also offers an optional security package for students’ one-to-one devices.
Medical Drills: The school conducts two drills each year to prepare for potential medical emergencies. During these drills, all available personnel report to areas requiring medical assistance. Students are kept in their classrooms, away from the area, until the emergency is over.
Any student with a temperature of 100° or higher, vomiting, diarrhea, or signs and symptoms of a possible infectious disease will be sent ho
me. Before returning to school, keep students home until they have been fever-free for 24 hours without medication and have had no symptoms of vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours.
All children with a suspected rash should be removed from school until a doctor determines that the rash is not infectious. If applicable, the student planner fee is included in tuition fees. Families who are unable to pay financially for the required materials must follow board policy 6152.01 regarding fee waivers.
Applications can be obtained from the school office. Failure to pay tuition will result in grades and transcripts being withheld until payment is received. In addition, the system works by tracking GPS devices on each bus, so it operates with delays that can be up to two minutes.
