Some volunteers will take the finished journals off the printer and distribute them around campus. Shani Kirtani, 33, was editor-in-chief of Leviathan from 2010 to 2011, when it was published three times a year and became something of a literary magazine without the political edge it once had. At the time, it was hard to get staff interested, so the editor-in-chief role went to Cortani, who now teaches English as a second language in Santa Cruz County.
Dan Palcarano, now CEO and executive editor of Metro Silicon Valley, took over as editor-in-chief in 1977, Feldman said, ushering in a new era for Leviathan. Its quirky layout was replaced with standard kits, a masthead with defined staff roles and a sales team to sell advertising.

Meanwhile, the graduates who founded Leviathan, including Frankels and Schachter, joined forces to form Leviathan in 1977. They were part of “Gerin Leviathan” and joined Kibbutz Gezer, which is primarily a North American kibbutz.
Gershom Gorenberg, an American-born Israeli journalist and blogger who works as a senior correspondent for The American Prospect and has written four books on Israeli politics and history, immigrated to Jerusalem in 1977 and still lives there.
Feldman stayed briefly in a separate kibbutz in Israel that year and returned to the States after a few months. Exceptional admission is granted to a very small percentage of applicants who do not meet UC requirements.

UC Santa Cruz no longer uses standardized test scores (ACT/SAT) in our overall evaluation and selection process. Like all UC campuses, we consider a wide range of factors when evaluating a student’s application, from academic performance to extracurricular achievements and response to life’s challenges.
No admissions decision is based on one factor. Test scores can still be used to meet the A-G subject area B requirements as well as the UC entry-level writing requirement. now a cause for celebration in honor of journalism’s 50th anniversary. . These days, Leviathan is a mix of all three, including articles on current events that affect the Jewish community and the wider campus community, short stories, poetry, essays, and art.
“We call it ‘low-stakes journalism,'” Alexandra Salkin, 21, a third-year student at UC Santa Cruz and editor-in-chief, told Jay. The admissions and selection process for UC Santa Cruz reflects the academic rigor and preparation needed to succeed at a major research institution.
Meeting the minimum university qualifications does not guarantee you new admission. Exceeding the minimum qualification will not only set you up for success, but will also increase your chances of admission.
