Add Drop And Withdrawal Deadlines For Summer Courses
Working at a rocket test site opened my eyes to an amazing array of technologies, amazing people, and a set of experiences I’ll never forget. I helped test it almost every day by watching rocket engine tests, two rocket launches in Florida, and watching astronauts return to the space station from US soil.
These experiences did not diminish the desire to return home to Alaska. The enrollment/dropout deadline for any summer course is one week after the announced start date. Note: Dropping, canceling, or canceling courses may affect current and future financial aid eligibility.
Students receiving financial aid should check with the UAA Financial Aid Office before dropping, withdrawing, or withdrawing from a course. See Financial Aid for more information. Continuing and new degree-seeking students admitted to any UAA campus are registered before non-undergraduate students and students from other UA campuses.
Summer registration is open to all graduate students first, followed by all other students, including undergraduate students. Enrollment is the process of registering and paying for classes in a particular semester. Students may attend UAA classes only after properly completing the course registration process.
Faculty-Initiated Drop Or Withdrawal
Course offerings, dates, times, and other important registration information specific to each semester are included in that semester’s class list through UAOnline. Not every course listed in this catalog is offered every semester. “When you see people in this dire situation, you have an immediate tendency to help,” Bowers said.
“In the long term, when you’re repairing the wreckage, whether we’re talking about buildings or bodies, you’re going to need an engineer or a nurse to put all the broken pieces back together.” This fund is the latest in a long history of giving to UAA.
In 2003, Bowers approached the university about establishing a cultural exchange program between students from Russia and Alaska. So far, it has awarded $45,700 in scholarships, helping 27 students earn degrees in fields such as sociology, journalism, business, global logistics and international studies.
The faculty is not obligated to initiate a demotion or dismissal for any reason. Students wishing to be excused from the first week of attendance must contact the instructor and obtain permission prior to the first class meeting of the semester to avoid faculty-initiated suspension or expulsion.

Cancellation Of Classes
A student who did not attend classes within the first seven calendar days from the beginning of the semester has the right to do this. The deadlines for teacher-initiated suspension or expulsion are the same as for student-initiated suspension or expulsion.
In 2014, Alaska became the fourth state in the United States to legalize the use of recreational marijuana, following Colorado, Washington, and Oregon. Since then, more than 150 retail cannabis stores have opened and operated in Alaska.
But despite such growth, navigating the cannabis regulatory landscape can feel like traversing the unknown Wild West. All students must meet with a faculty member or academic advisor before registering for each semester. Advising helps students clarify their goals, choose the right course, and understand academic expectations.
However, the student is responsible for meeting university requirements. In emergency situations, the student or a person legally authorized to act on the student’s behalf may submit a late withdrawal or withdrawal form. Ignoring University procedures or deadlines or altering a record related to appearance cannot be grounds for late addition or retroactive cancellation.
Auditing Classes
The University is obliged to ensure the integrity of the tr
anscript as a historical document. Therefore, the transcript should reflect the true story of the student’s experience at the university. Inquiries are rarely accepted and opportunities are made, and while the class does not deal with actual marijuana, CannaBasics provides a detailed, primarily theoretical overview of all things cannabis in six three-hour sessions.
Topics covered include everything from plant anatomy, production equipment, and proper dosage to sales, history, and laws. But most importantly, the course emphasizes safety. In November 2021, UAA alumni from across the state and beyond turned their communities green and gold with shared pride.
Part of a larger UA Giving Day initiative that raised $262,000 for UAA and more than $1 million across the University of Alaska, nearly 300 alumni gave more than $80,000 to UAA campuses, colleges and programs — with another 70 alumni and Giv over $31,000

Students in audit courses must meet the prerequisites, register and pay the same tuition as those taking credit courses. During the first and second weeks of the semester, an audit requires faculty signature for credit. No credit audits or audit credit changes are permitted after the second week of the semester.
Student-Initiated Drop Or Withdrawal
Audition registration is based on availability. Auditors may be removed from class to accommodate students seeking credit. Audited courses do not earn credit. The faculty sets the requirements for the audit of the course. Teachers can remove students if they do not meet the agreed conditions.

If the past two years have taught us anything, it’s that sea wolves are resilient. We kicked off the fall semester by welcoming students, faculty, staff, and alumni to great individual events like Campus Kickoff, Homecoming, and bringing hockey and gymnastics back to campus.
It’s a great start to the school year, and I’m excited to see what the spring semester brings. Students can skip classes in each semester according to the deadline set in the academic calendar. Submission deadlines are determined by the start date of the class and usually occur during the first two weeks of class (for fall and spring semesters) or consecutively for courses with irregular start and end dates.
Lessons taken before the deadline will not be graded. Requirements that a student must meet include all catalog prerequisites and/or major course requirements, as well as other enrollment restrictions and participation requirements established for the course.
