There are various valid claims, and there are no practical, dignified, or legal means of evaluating individual claims. Final grades are due to the Office of the Registrar 72 hours after the last final exam day, regardless of whether or not there was a two-hour summative exam. For University of Wisconsin schools, including UW-Madison, tuition is determined by the UW System Board of Regents, based on budgets approved by the Wisconsin governor and legislature. The Madison Budget Office determines the rates for each academic program at UW-Madison. Historical tuition rates can also be found on the Madison Budget Office website. Most academic programs have tuition fees based on the number of credits in which the student is enrolled during a semester. Some programs have a range of credits that are considered the “full-time” rate, and students are assessed that rate for each number of credits within the full-time rate. For example, the undergraduate full-time range is 12 to 18 credits in a Fall or Spring semester: a student taking 12 credits will be charged the same tuition as the student taking 17 credits. Midterm grades for first-year students are ready at the end of the fifth week or classes. Midterm grades are available to students on Monday of week eight in their Student Center in MyUW. An email is sent to all students with five-week notes informing them of their availability in the Student Center. The deadline for the main 8-week DHH summer session and any other sessions with the same end date are posted on this page. For all other sessions, grades should be posted 3 days (72 hours) after the last day of class for that session. A process is held on the Thursday before the last class day that will fill the grade list. You can check with the person who enters courses for your major or please call 262-3811 if you have questions about when a grade list for a particular course will be ready for grading. Once the rosters are generated, the appropriate grade icons will appear on each gradeable class in the Faculty and final grading can begin. Some of these fees are one-time fees; others may be assessed each semester depending on the student’s status, enrollment date, courses taken and if the student lives in University Housing. Instructors must use MyUW Faculty Center to submit final grades and grade changes. Until grades are completed by instructors and marked as “Submit to Registrar”, they will not be posted to student records and will not be considered official by the Office of the Registrar. Posting is required before grade reports are available to students using their Student Center in MyUW. Grade access will be removed by teachers three days (72 hours) from the last final exam day in a given period. Summer terms do not have final exam periods, so the 72-hour grading deadline will be applied using the last class day of the session. According to the policy, the grading deadlines for upcoming terms are as follows: Tuition adjustment and reimbursement depends on a number of factors, including the student’s academic program, number of credits taken and the date the drop occurs. Students should review the tuition adjustment calendar and work with their academic advisor before dropping a class.
