Advant Calendar Lego – The article explores our first impressions, general thoughts, and highlights some of the rare or interesting parts included in each set. In order not to spoil the entire advent calendar, we’ve highlighted just a few of our favorite minifigures along with four of our favorite builds for any advent calendar!

This set contains a large number of pieces, but what makes it even more special is the number of unique or notable pieces in this set. This set contains a large number of new colored parts that exist in 10 sets or less!

In addition to the parts, the minifigures in this set are printed and available in sets of five or less, adding to the exclusivity! I want this to be as fun and independent (as possible) for the kids every day.

LEGO designs are simple and straightforward. Older kids can make their LEGO Christmas builds as intricate and intricate as they like and add more pieces! For younger builders interested in LEGO Friends history, this is a great opportunity for story-based play as they have all five girls in one advent calendar and can also imagine how the girls would have played.

The other is the fallacy that LEGO yellow is a “neutral” color that does not represent human skin. Through the eyes of this African American AFOL, yellow, a light color, reads as “white” skin. I don’t understand why LEGO can’t randomly vary the skin color of its minifigures in unlicensed sets like the advent calendar.

The minifigures in this advent calendar span a wide range of Marvel films given the vastness of the universe and include some minifigure twists to keep the holiday spirit in sync. The ones that caught my eye did so because of their focus on the festive spirit of advent calendars, to mention their rarity in the long run.

TIP #2: Alternate the Daily Challenge. If you prefer to buy the sets mentioned but don’t want to buy 2 per child, have them alternate the daily challenge and have the other children choose a prompt from the LEGO Christmas Challenge calendar to build from the same pieces.

While Christmas and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy might not immediately feel like obvious bedfellows, that’s all set to change in December: Disney has a special, big-budget Guardians Christmas episode for its Disney Plus streaming service.

You won’t be able to get away from (or get tired of) the gang of space heroes at the end of the year! In general, the difficulty in figuring out the wordless instructions for mini-builds and assembling often complex models makes me wonder about the LEGO City advent calendar’s 5+ year designation.

Initial Impressions

Building these models was a fun challenge for me, but could be frustrating for a child on the younger side of the recommended age. For children just under five years of age, an adult should be available to help them with this construction work.

Especially targeting younger builders who love the LEGO Friends line, this year’s calendar easily earns our 4/5 star rating (recommended). The overall quality is comparable to last year’s version, but the decision to include all five girls as micro-dolls adds some variety to the mix.

Most importantly, some of the micro builds are great and offer a better price per piece than any other 2021 advent calendar. LEGO Marvel The Avengers Advent Calendar #76196 costs $39.99 (€29.99 / £24.99 / 49.99 CAD / AUD 49.99), 298 pack, ages 7+.

The set retails for a pretty hefty $0.13 each at MSRP, although it comes with 7 minifigures and is a great way to get plenty of relatively rare Infinity Stone pieces. We also LOVE science and all things STEM.

But inexpensive advent calendars always make the holiday experience even better. Whether it’s the sheer number of minifigures, the variety of mini build types, or just the uniqueness of a new theme, I’m sure this set has something for everyone.

Not only is this set fun to build, but it comes with a large number of versatile rare parts that you can use to enhance your other b
uilds. The festive atmosphere this set brings makes it a great addition to the advent calendar range and I hope this theme continues next year!

This set gets a solid 4/5 star rating (recommended) and is worth picking up even at full price. However, Santa Claus is looking suspiciously thin here in the world of Lego Friends and could use a little feeding ahead of next year’s schedule.

And not only Santa Claus has been slimmed down, but the set as a whole, which has significantly fewer parts than last year. #41690 LEGO Friends Advent Calendar is €29.99 (€24.99 / £19.99 / CAD39.99 / AUD49.99), 370 pieces, ages 6+.

The set is $0.08 each at MSRP, although you might be able to find it at a discount after the holidays (if it’s not sold out). Before I write about my best minifigures, I have one caveat: I don’t like minifigures.

One of the reasons is that I hate yellow, which is the default skin color for minifigures. I hate LEGO Yellow so much that my personal brick stash only contains a handful of these colored bricks, which are hard-to-find shapes.

As a huge Star Wars fan, I was thrilled to see how The Mandalorian Show brought a classic Star Wars feel back to Star Wars. That’s why I’m happy that this year’s advent calendar was a Mando theme set.

I’ve delved more into Star Wars advent calendars in the past and can’t wait to see all the goodies inside, so I started opening the many doors of this pack with high expectations. When I first heard about this set, my first thought was “Yes!

Galaxy makes a good first impression thanks to the quality of the six (six!) mini-set figures, including fan-favorites Star-Lord, Rocket, G root, Mantis, Nebula and Drax. There’s plenty of humor in this set too, like seeing Groot dressed up as a Christmas tree and the flamethrower cooking up Rocket’s turkey.

It’s the thinnest of the sets here though – with just 268 pieces behind the doors there’s less chance of rebuilding with the pieces hidden behind the doors here. However, it will take you all the way to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, due out in 2023. As always, there’s a massive range of miniships to build from snowspeeders to tie-fighters, as well as a mini version of the spooky cave that Luke hangs in when he’s launched

Wampa Snow Captured Creature of the Empire Strikes Back. It’s a shame there aren’t any wampa creations included here, but we’re sure a clever builder could recreate the creature using the parts included here. A return to form after last year’s defunct Mandalorian themed set.

This is a fun and whimsical advent calendar for lovers of the Harry Potter universe. I didn’t spend much time looking at the box as I wanted to admire the constructions, but given the wintry image on the numbered page I was hoping the calendar would have a more wintry theme.

Top Mini Builds

(Turns out that’s not the case.) The play area has a board game-like path with specific points for various builds throughout the month. The best part about our LEGO countdown calendar is that you can make LEGO building ideas using the LEGO bricks you already have, or you can grab the set from the supply list if you need more bricks.

I have a list of suggestions to get you started and I’ll show you the different designs we’ve come up with. Think of the many possible Mandalorian characters that could have been offered in this set that fans would have gone crazy over: Ahsoka Tano, Cara Dune, Moff Gideon, Kuill, Bo-Katan, the Armory and many others.

(See About Brick Architect for a full list of affiliate programs.) I didn’t spend much time looking at the packaging graphics before getting started, but I got some impressions right away. The first was the lack of standard-size Friends minidolls (which we’ll talk about later), and the second was an appreciation for the fact that few of the mini builds are spoiled by box art.

This set contains 18 mini builds that vary in size, detail and theme. 15 of the mini-builds correspond to numbered spots on the “game board”/play area, with the idea that you’ll be building the stage for your board game throughout the month.

The best Lego advent calendars are becoming a Christmas tradition almost as important as mince pies and mulled wine. Well we know Christmas is still a while away but these kits sell out well before December so now is the time to shop.
