We coordinate with our many community partners to offer enhanced industry pathways, embedded field trips, a variety of extracurricular opportunities, academically challenging curriculum, and instruction.
Arkansas Arts Academy, an open-enrollment charter school, has more than 700 students in grades kindergarten through 12. It began in 2001 as the Benton County School of the Arts. About 59 percent of its students live in the Rogers School District and about 27 percent live in the Bentonville School District.

The remaining 14 percent came from Benton, Washington and other districts in Carroll County. Administrators have determined that the calendar change will have little to no financial impact, Lay said. The number of school days and days paid to staff members will remain the same.
Bentonville’s Elm Tree Elementary and R.E. Baker elementary schools have also been on the continuous education calendar for many years until this school year. Both were placed on a more traditional calendar with other schools in the district.

Mary Lay, the school’s principal, cited several benefits of the change, including less learning loss in the summer, more time for students and staff to recuperate throughout the year, and more flexibility for families in vacation planning.
