Confluence Team Calendar – To meet enterprise demand for collaboration and coordination across multiple teams, we’ve bundled Team Calendars with Confluence Data Center, meaning it will be licensed on an annual basis for a Data Center environment. Data center licenses expire and are not permanent like server licenses.
Because data center features are designed for scalability and stability, team calendars are great for customers managing complex projects. Confluence Data Center also includes features like analytics, advanced permissions, read-only mode, and more. There are also many new features coming soon to the data center, including instance cleanup, data pipeline, and support for multiple IdPs.

See the Confluence Data Center Roadmap to learn more. You will be prompted to enter a title, time and other details. After adding the details, click OK to add the event to your calendar. If there are multiple calendars on the My Calendars page, you’ll need to select the calendar you’re adding the event to.
What Does This Mean For Existing Team Calendars For Confluence Server Customers?
Hello community! We’re excited to announce that Team Calendars for Confluence is now a built-in feature for Confluence Data Center 7.11 and later. Long-popular team calendars help teams share their schedules so they can stay organized, communicate availability, and easily track projects.
All existing Team Calendars for Confluence Server customers will continue to access the Team Calendars app as usual. From February 2, 2021 PT to February 2, 2022 PT, we will continue to provide support (ie database, browser, Java) and bug fixes to server products.
After February 2, 2022 PST, we will only provide security fixes for critical vulnerabilities until the end of support. Support for your products will end on February 2, 2024 PST. After this date, we will not release any more updates to the product.
Regular security updates help protect your business from threats and vulnerabilities, so we strongly recommend moving to the cloud or data center before the end of support. I hear your frustration, and I know there have been a lot of changes lately that together make the experience even more frustrating.

We continue to invest the majority of our resources in the Standard and are constantly adding new features to the Standard to support all of our customers. While we continue to add Premium features and integrate them from the market from time to time, we don’t and won’t take away the benefits of Standard – we think the Standard product itself is fantastic and has the functionality to support the vast majority of teams.
After February 2, 2021 PT, server customers will no longer be able to purchase or request a quote for group calendars. Native features native to Team Calendars will only be available if you upgrade to Cloud Premium or Data Center.
If you have a valid offer, we will consider it for licenses purchased after that date. Yes, you will continue to pay for work calendars until April 30, 2021. Starting February 2021, you have a 3-month trial of Confluence Cloud Premium and can use work calendars and more until April 30, 2021. Team Calendars for Confluence is now
part of Confluence Data Center. To access the features described on this page, upgrade to Confluence Data Center 7.11 or later. Still can’t upgrade? Depending on your current version of Data Center, you may be able to access these features by installing the latest version of the application (free).

You obviously prefer the stick to the carrot. The premium plan approach directly contradicts two points I highlighted in the CRO podcast. Atlassian needs to seriously rethink its Premium plan. By blocking features and other offerings above the double price barrier, you are alienating your customer base.
Whats Built Into The Feature
We may decide to move to Confluence Cloud, but there’s absolutely no guarantee we’ll stay there, especially if the list of “stuff” behind the Premium plan keeps growing, leaving those on the Standard plan poorer and poorer.
All existing customers of Team Calendars for Confluence Cloud can continue to use the app until January 21, 2021 and receive an extended trial of Confluence Premium, which gives them continuous access to Team Calendars during the trial period.
As of February 1, 2021, Team Calendars will no longer be available for purchase as a standalone add-on for Confluence. Please check your email or FAQ to see how these changes will affect your team and subscription billing.

Many new features are coming to Premium soon, including playable tracks, a test environment, external collaboration and automation. See the Confluence Cloud Premium roadmap to learn more. Of course, moving Team Calendars to a Premium plan doesn’t offer any technical benefits, so as a result, customers who currently pay for it as an app now have to pay a lot more just because it’s part of a larger package.
. On February 15, 2024 Pacific Time, support for your server products will end. After that date, support and bug fixes will no longer be available for your server products and applications, and all renewals will be tied to that date.
To stay safe and take advantage of ongoing innovation, we strongly recommend migrating to the cloud or data center before the end of support. We have enjoyed using Confluence Server for the past 8 years. We will most likely move to Confluence Cloud, but this is not a one-size-fits-all solution.
I even have employees asking me if we should go to Google Sites instead! Our overview of our use of Jira isn’t much better – there are growing calls to consider open source alternatives, despite the initial struggles we had to go through to get there.
Collaborative calendars in Confluence Cloud Premium will soon ship with CalDAV server support, allowing you to integrate your favorite calendar clients like Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar, or Apple Calendar for iOS and MacOS and making it easier for teams to work together.
However, there are now a number of Confluence features that are only available in the Premium plan, and I believe that preventing customers from “picking and mixing” the features that best suit their needs will be detrimental in the long run.
Not to mention you completely screwed up the implementation of this change. You emailed us in November that this was bound to happen. Then 5 days later you sent an email saying it was a mistake.
And then two months later we get a “reminder” that it will happen in 10 days. There are two places where you can view and work with a group’s calendars—in the Confluence space or on the My Calendars page.

The My Calendars page provides a summary of all group calendars you are currently subscribed to. After the extended trial, if you choose to upgrade to the standard edition, you will lose team calendars. You can restore saved work calendars at any time by upgrading to Confluence Premium.

I was under the impression that you received update notes with more details via Calendly when I rescheduled events (I was sick on Friday and Monday is a public holiday).

If you are on an annual subscription plan, you already have a trial version of Confluence Cloud Premium before the subscription end date. With team calendars for Confluence Data Center, you can create calendars to track events that affect your team, such as release dates, project milestones, or holidays.
My Calendars gives you a personalized view of all the calendars you’ve subscribed to. You can also embed a calendar on your Confluence page to make important dates more visible. Custom event types and reminders allow you to customize each calendar to suit your needs.
My concern is that Atlassian could on a whim remove an app from the Marketplace and make it available only to customers with a plan that costs twice as much. We are currently looking at how our self-hosted copies reach end of life in a few years and as such we are faced with a very important decision to stick with Atlassian or move to other products.
I wanted to do this and booked a place with you for this Friday. Then you rescheduled it for Monday the 15th. No apologies or verification that the new slot is working for me. However, I accepted the change.
Then you moved
it to Tuesday the 16th. Again, no apology or verification that *this* slot works for me. So now I’ve canceled the meeting and will just write my thoughts publicly. After all, it’s just poor customer service to take existing functionality and move it to a more expensive tier.
It’s fair to want to have a premium version of your product to make more money, but what you add to the premium version should be new functionality. Customers no longer need to rely on existing functionality.
Because when you do that, you’re just raising your prices a lot without giving anything in return. If you prefer not to upgrade to Confluence Cloud Premium after the trial period, you can cancel at any time by editing your Confluence plan in the Manage Subscriptions screen of your admin portal.
(For monthly customers, remember to cancel by April 30, 2021 to avoid being charged.)
