Dacc Calendar – Attending a South County center is the same as attending a Las Cruces campus of DACC. The same procedures and regulations apply. Students attending the Gadsden Center or Sunland Park Center may attend classes at any other DACC or NMSU campus without completing additional admissions procedures.

Students may attend one or more campuses and/or centers at the same time; However, the total credit hour load may not exceed that prescribed by the general class load policy. Located adjacent to New Mexico State University, the Espina campus is home to the following associate degree and certificate programs: Automotive Technology;

Associate in Science degree program; dental assistant; dental hygiene; Diagnostic Medical Sonography; electrical programs; Electronic Technology; General Engineering; Health Care Assistant; heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration; Radiation technology; respiratory therapy; water technology; and welding technology.

DACC’s Customized Training, Small Business Development Center and Truck Driver Academy currently reside in the Workforce Center. Together, these programs address everything from the startup needs of small businesses to the larger training needs of established, growing businesses.

Many business assessment tools are available, as well as training space and commercial space for outside organizations on a short-term, rental basis. Undergraduate and non-undergraduate applicants seeking admission may apply at DACC’s Central Campus or the new East Mesa Campus or Center in Las Cruces.

Dona Ana Community College

Students attending a satellite center may attend classes at Doña Ana Community College, NMSU’s main campus, or at two other NMSU branch Las Cruces campuses, without completing additional admissions procedures. Students may attend one or more campuses at the same time;

However, the total credit hour load may not exceed that prescribed by the general class load policy. A one-time application fee of $20 is charged for students who have never previously applied to NMSU or any of its affiliates.

The 6,200-square-foot center offers freshman and sophomore courses, including dual credit courses for high school students.

It is also the site of Chaparral’s adult education program. For more information, refer to the Adult Education website. The Gadsden and Sunland Park centers offer a variety of general education courses that meet the needs of departments and colleges of liberal arts and business.

Common general education subjects are communication, economics, English composition, mathematics, psychology and sociology. All general education courses offered through South State Centers comply with Veterans Administration and Social Security Administration regulations. DACC is a proud member of the art community and has created wonderful artwork for talented students over the years.

To commemorate these pieces we have established a permanent art collection to host amazing pieces and allow the public to view our students’ work free of charge. Doña Ana Community College provides educational services to residents of Doña Ana County, New Mexico, a large rural county in the southern part of the state.

Most of the population resides in four areas: Sunland Park, near the Santa Teresa port of entry with Mexico; Anthony and Chaparral, on the Texas border, north of El Paso; Las Cruces, centrally located in the county with the largest population in the county;

and Hatch, the “Chile Capital of the World,” located in the northwestern part of the state, near Spaceport America. The distance between Sunland Park, the southernmost community, and Hatch, the northernmost community, is approximately 90 miles.

Classes offered on these websites can be found on the DACC class schedule. Many academic services are available on the website for students enrolling in classes at the centers.

These services include admissions, registration, advising, tuition payment, schedule changes, withdrawals, and textbook purchases. All students currently attending, or planning to attend, may utilize student services and tutoring available at two Doña Ana Community College campuses in Las Cruces, one of the South County Centers.

Education, emergency medical services, fire investigation, fire science, health information technology, hospitality and tourism, hospitality services management, law enforcement, library science, legal studies, pre-business and public health. These centers offer freshman and sophomore level courses in vocational, technical, developmental and general education.

DACC also offers a number of certificates and associate degrees. These centers also offer concurrent enrollment (dual credit) programs for the Gadsden School District. ESL, GED, and citizenship classes for the border area are available through the Adult Education Program, and are also located at the centers.

All students currently attending or planning to attend may utilize student services available at one of the South County Centers, Doña Ana Community College campuses in Las Cruces. A counselor is available at South State Centers to advise students as they make career, program and scheduling choices.

DACC students can take advantage of support services at either location. The campus also houses the library, computer labs, Student Success Center (student tutoring), Academic Readiness Center, and the Quintana Learning Center, which offers adult education and helps prepare students for college-level studies.

Full student services are offered at this campus. Customized contract training for employee development is available on a variety of business-related topics at the Workforce Center. Customized classes focus on employee development and peak team performance.

Every aspect of a course can be tailored to meet an organization’s specific needs, including class topics and content, location, length and time. Courses can be held on campus or at the workplace. Hours can be adjusted to fit employee work schedules.
