Fbisd Calendar 2021 – During a special meeting of the Mel Bluff ISD Board of Trustees on April 21, the board approved the official 2021-2022 school calendar. Now that Flour Bluff ISD is an innovation district, the district has more flexibility with the start date of the new school year.

The start date for the 2021-2022 school year is August 10th, including a full week for Thanksgiving, two weeks for Christmas break, and one week for spring break. Staff Development Days and Teacher Planning and Preparation Days have been spread out throughout the school year, which provides more days off for students during the school year.

The last day of school for students is Wednesday, May 25, 2022. Other calendar changes include an additional week off for students March 22-26, after their scheduled spring break March 15-19. March. This week will be used to prepare Term 4 timelines and can be used for instructional interventions, Williams said.

It also includes two additional days of professional learning for teachers. Stephanie Williams, executive director of organizational transformation, said the changes are needed to allow faculty more planning time before each semester and to facilitate changes in schedules when students move from online to face-to-face teaching or vice versa.

Claire joined the Community Impact newspaper in September 2019 as a reporter for the Sugar Land/Missouri City edition and in December 2021 moved to Austin to become the reporter for the Northwest Austin edition. In May 2022, she was promoted to editor of Cedar Park/Leander and Georgetown publications.

She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2019, where she studied journalism, government and Arabic. While in school, Claire was a columnist for the Texas Tribune, worked for the student newspaper The Daily Texan, and spent a semester in Washington, D.C.

She enjoys playing cards with the family and listening to the boss, Bruce Springsteen. According to a press release, the approved timetable begins instruction on Aug. 10 and ends on May 25, before Memorial Day. It allows nine weeks of summer vacation for teachers and 10 and a half weeks for students.

Two online surveys and paper ballots were used for the final survey. The first online tool is SurveyMonkey. It was created and posted on the district website for parents, students, faculty/staff, and community members. The second online tool was Google.

The poll was created for students to vote on middle and high school campuses. We also use a paper ballot system for the Maintenance and Operations Department. The voting window for all three polls opened on April 13th and closed on April 16th.

Below are the results of the three surveys: “I’ll be honest and it will look good, but it’s time to adjust the summer plans,” Superintendent Charles Dupre said in response. “Our goal is to run a system for all children, so I don’t think we can make that decision based on something like, ‘we made plans for the week’.”

In the case of school cancellations caused by bad weather, the calendar plans an additional 1,185 operating minutes, more than the TEA minimum requirement of 840 minutes. February 20th and April 10th will serve as additional weather preparation days.

A Calendar Committee, comprised of staff, parents, and community members, was formed in February 2021 to consider state requirements, different calendar options, teaching needs for our campuses, and research suggestions from the previous year. A total of five calendar committee meetings were held between February and March.

Through this work, the committee narrowed the choices down to two final calendar choices. Prior to conducting the survey, a meeting was held with the Dyke (District Improvement Committee) on April 13, 2021. At the meeting, the Dyke Committee members viewed the final two calendar options and unanimously voted to accept the calendar which received .

The majority votes on the Board of Trustees for approval at the next school board meeting.
