Kaufman Isd Calendar – Both calendars include major breaks—Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring—that are consistent with NISD’s traditional length and style. This includes a few extra days off for students after the week immediately following winter break and the week immediately following spring break to help teachers prepare.

It includes 14 days for team development and gives families one week off for Thanksgiving and spring break and two weeks off for winter break. The council also named two buildings after key figures in the county’s history. Klein ISD’s Disciplinary Alternative Education Program has been renamed K.E. Kaufman Center for Alternative Education in honor of DAEP educator and acting director Kim Kaufman.

Klein ISD’s central office building has been renamed the Frank A. Lemon Administration Building in honor of retired educator Frank Lemon. Kaufman and Lemon’s son received the honor in person. Northwest ISD continues to closely monitor local weather based on forecasts for possible hail or other severe conditions.

Due to the potential for inclement weather that could result in unsafe driving conditions, all after school activities scheduled for today, March 2, are canceled or rescheduled. We do not foresee any changes to dismissal procedures, although we encourage student drivers and families to drive with caution.

In the event of rain, please note that campus dismissal times may be slower than usual and we appreciate your patience. If inclement weather occurs during dismissal, students may be sheltered in school buildings until the weather clears before being dismissed.

Based on previous reviews, both calendars mimic the 2021-2022 calendar, with the holiday dates matching the current calendar and changing simply based on how the dates fall based on the change in year. Trustees were selected to approve calendars for the next two school years based on early feedback from families that the biennial approval process provided advance notice to help plan vacations around school and work commitments.

Event leaders will noti
fy students and families of any rescheduled activities. The Northwest ISD Career Fair scheduled for today at Byron Nelson High School is included in these postponed events and attendees will be notified of a new date in the coming days.

For families of students attending AlphaBEST, this service will continue after school, although we strongly encourage students to be picked up as soon as possible.
