The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is a 354-building residential campus in the University District with classrooms, laboratories, libraries, residence halls, and recreational and cultural facilities. Agricultural fields throughout the state of Illinois are used as experimental fields by the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences.

The Campus
Ten undergraduate service education departments offer more than 150 courses leading to bachelor’s degrees. They are the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences; College of Applied Health Sciences; Gies College of Business; College of Education;
Granger College of Engineering; College of Fine and Applied Arts; College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; College of Media; School of Social Work; and School of Information Sciences. Graduate students study in more than 100 disciplines through the Graduate College and professional programs through the College of Law, Carle Illinois College of Medicine and the College of Veterinary Medicine.

National surveys consistently rank the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign among the top ten institutions in many majors, with several colleges and departments in the top five. * December 23, 29 and 30 were named “Gift Days” by the Chancellor.
In the past, these days were considered reduced service days, which required employees to take vacation, floating leave, or go without pay. This year too, those days are considered campus holidays.
