Recommendations presented to the board for the 2018-19 calendar include Labor Day, Sept. 3, as a student/staff holiday; The calendar includes a five-day Thanksgiving holiday (November 19-23); A 10-day winter vacation is planned for students (24.12.-04.01.2019);
A five-day spring break is scheduled for March 11-15, 2019; Good Friday 19th April 2019 Student/Staff Holiday. “(Virtual) students are engaged in daily learning during school hours. Not at 10 p.m., not on Saturday or Sunday,” Hull said.

The Sci-Fair Board of Trustees approved the academic calendar for 2018-19 on Monday. For the district, Aug. 27 will be the first day of school for students, the start date for the 2018-19 school year. A school district committee has worked to create calendars using the 75,600 minutes needed to complete a school year, now under House Bill 2610 which replaces the earlier requirement of 180 school days in the required school year.
