drugs and much more. It is the University of Colorado Boulder’s policy to adhere to the final exam schedule as published by the Office of the Registrar each semester. Unless otherwise notified in writing during the first week of classes, students enrolled in undergraduate courses must assume an exam.

Although it may be appropriate not to give a final certificate in some undergraduate courses, such as independent studies, laboratory courses, seminars, and project-based courses and seminars, final exams are an integral part of the teaching program and must be given in all other undergraduate courses.

Graduated seniors are not exempted from final examinations. Students enrolled in postgraduate courses should consult with their teachers about whether final exams will be taken. Supervisors and department heads will work with faculty and staff to determine who will pursue external training programs based on the needs of their units and the need for the campus to provide personalized, purposeful, and meaningful educational and co-curricular activities.

Regarding large, informal gatherings on and off campus, we will improve our ability to catch violations early, continue to enforce the rules, and promptly discipline students who have engaged in serious violations of public health requirements.

We will focus on preventing behavior that would cause Boulder County Public Health to issue strict public health orders affecting the broader campus and Boulder community. On December 15, 2020, CU Boulder hosted a question and answer session on campus regarding the Spring 2021 semester plan. These ongoing sessions are an opportunity for members of the campus community to ask questions, express concerns, and stay connected.

New Test Anticipation: All faculty, staff, and students required to be on campus during the spring semester must participate in the Campus Observation Program once a week. Participation in the monitoring program is essential to help avoid further public health restrictions.

The current requirement that campus residents and some staff attend weekly will also continue. Metrics influencing the county’s designation on the state disc include the five-day average test positivity rate, the two-week average number of cases per 100,000 in the county and the stable or declining trend in hospitalization rates over at least nine days.

Boulder County Public Health and CDPHE have asked CU Boulder to cooperate in distributing the vaccine to faculty, staff and students. The campus expects to serve as a place where faculty, staff and students can choose to get vaccinated.

Vaccine timing and availability through CU will follow state guidelines and depend largely on state and national vaccine supplies. The campus will continue to provide updates as vaccine distribution information becomes available. “In terms of who we are, I tell people all the time that we’re going to build our defense around Coach Prime’s expectations, and he says that all the time. We’re going to be big, we’re going to be physical, we’re going to be disciplined, we want to be fast, we want to be tough. So we want to be defensive style.

“I’ve been very fortunate to be working with Nick Saban,” Kelly said. “I think there’s no doubt that he’s proven to be the greatest of all. He is very smart, very witty, yet very disciplined. And what I learned from the coach is to be consistent in everything you do.

The campus operates year-round with two semesters in fall and spring of 16 weeks each, a winter session between fall and spring, and a summer term comprising two three-week courses (May Master and Aug Master), two five-week courses, one eight-week session

, 10-week session and 2 intensive sessions (1 week or more). “The first thing before you make a defensive call or play is to find the people who are going to compete,” Kelly said during a press conference.

Students who lived on campus during the fall 2020 semester and returned for the spring semester will remain in their pre-assigned rooms. As in the fall, for students interested in locker rooms, only these housing units will be offered within the existing building assignments, subject to availability.

“I think when you work with people, there’s no question that you take things from them that are trying to help you in the future, and I certainly will. I also understand that you can’t copy someone. You have to have your own personality.”
