Isd 709 Calendar – Student holidays in the 2021-2022 school year are Labor Day, Columbus Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and President’s Day. Next year’s calendar also includes four vacation days for students and professional training for staff. District holidays reflect traditional community preferences: one week for Thanksgiving and spring break and two weeks for winter break.

The last day of school for students is Friday, May 27, 2022, and graduation is scheduled for Saturday, May 28, 2022. The Issaquah school calendar is created in collaboration with the staff and board of trustees. The calendar is set in advance so that families can synchronize their activities with the school schedule.

Please note: Time bound collection days are added at the end of each school year or as marked on the calendar. The 2021-2022 school calendar meets all state requirements for mandatory protocols and staffing. Two additional inclement weather days are listed on the calendar: Friday, April 15, 2022, and Friday, May 20, 2022.

School Year Calendars

The calendar was developed using a multi-level whiteboard-based process. Feedback was gathered from parents and community members on the District Planning Advisory Committee (DPAC), as well as teachers and administrators. A Calendar Advisory Committee met to review community feedback and expectations and develop an academic calendar that meets state requirements and best supports the district’s Aspire 2025 strategic plan. . For faculty and staff, there are several days designated to support professional learning. From 4-13. August 2021 will provide basic professional training for all teachers and time for staff to complete the necessary online training for district compliance.

Employees joining the district in 2021-2022 will also attend Orientation 2-3. August. Employees will be provided with specific information regarding professional training opportunities and opportunities.
