I love my calendar! It is very colorful and full of information! What I also like about it is that it has extra birthdays like Elvis Presley and King Kamehameha I Day! You can’t see them in regular calendars.

Thank you for making a beautiful calendar that is both fun and informative. “I love adding all my gardening dates to this calendar and saving them for future reference. – Jessica Frank © The Old Farm. document.getElementById(“copyright_year”).innerHTML = new Date().getFullYear(); Rotating crops to different locations in your garden each season helps keep plants healthy and productive, but with so many different factors to consider, a multi-year crop rotation plan can be complicated.

Root crops: Crops that produce their yield underground (potatoes, radishes, carrots, etc.) Seedbed: A bed of soil that is cultivated to plant seeds or seedlings before they are transplanted.

Seedlings: Young plants – especially those grown from seed (rather than from a cutting). For an autumn harvest, however, it’s a bit more complicated, because you have to harvest a lot of vegetables before the winter frosts start.

Our fall planting dates take into account which crops are more durable compared to softer ones, and we’ve also made adjustments for the harvest period. (If you find that the vegetable or fruit you want to grow doesn’t leave you enough days to harvest in the fall, you may be able to find a special variety with a shorter growing season!)
