In 2022-2023, school will begin for students on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 and end on Friday, May 26, 2023. In 2023-2024, school will begin for students on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 and ends on Friday. May 23, 2024. Both calendars include significant breaks – Thanksgiving, winter and spring – in keeping with NISD’s traditional length and style. This includes several additional days off for students after the week immediately following winter break and the week immediately following spring break to help prepare teachers.

The Kearney School District is hosting a Kindergarten Orientation Program from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 28 at Dogwood Elementary, Hawthorne Elementary, Kearney Elementary and Southview Elementary. This will be an opportunity for eligible students attending kindergarten this fall to prepare by spending time with their teachers and other school support staff.
Parents and guardians will meet and communicate with school administrators during the Q&A session at this time. In addition, equipment and support will be available for registration in nursery schools.
