Skip to contentSdpc Calendar – The Oconee County Board of Trustees School District adopts a school year calendar each year that meets the requirements set out in SC Code SECTION 59-1-425. Schedules are usually received no later than early spring. The district government strongly believes that the best learning schedule for our school is one that consists of the first semester before Christmas.
To do so and remain compliant with state laws, the district has adopted a “year-round change” schedule. The biggest difference between the year-round modified calendar and the regular calendar is that there is one week off between each of the 9 weeks.

Students will have June and July as summer holidays. The district has developed a draft calendar for the 2024-2025 school year, which will be posted on the district website for planning purposes, but must be reviewed annually by the board prior to final approval and is subject to change.

This calendar follows a modified format for the rest of the year. A MODIFIED or “balanced” year-round calendar reduces long summer vacations and simply spreads the days out over the school year, creating more breaks and limiting long days in sessions, as well as longer periods of teaching in the summer.
. As we return to “normal” in 2021-22, state regulations determining the length and year of each school day return to effect. We plan to maintain the 2021-22 teaching calendar which is available here: bit.ly/SDPC2021-22. The SDPC will not be releasing a six-week calendar like we did this school year.
