After 5 p.m., participants are invited to embark on a Luminary Walk to Redmond Town Center. Along the Redmond Central Connector Trail, pedestrians will see new lighting installations by five local artists. Two light installations will be on display in the new city center park as part of the Luminary Walk.
A Month-Long Art Light Installation At Downtown Park
Big-name acts from the first Friday in downtown Redmond to General Duffy’s Waterhole or the Bacon & Beer and Winterfest at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center – Oregon’s Biggest Winter Festival! Check the event calendar to see what’s happening next in Redmond.
“Redmond Lights is our only winter celebration that brings together many of Redmond’s culture and traditions,” said Mayor John Marchionne. “I invite you all to enjoy the music, light art and activities that connect us all during this year’s festival.”
Redmond will also be hosting a decorating contest where residents can submit photos of their holiday lights by December 18th to win online and share photos with the hashtag #LetitGlowRedmond. Voting will take place in the last two weeks of December.
The expanded event will allow for extra safety precautions and distance from attendees, according to the City of Redmond website. The city says all events show the joy and security of hope in a new way amid the outbreak of Kovid-19.

Redmond’s Annual Month-Long Art Light Installation In Downtown Redmond
Booths during Friday night celebrations: Every Friday night (December 2, 9, and 16) there is live entertainment and activities for visitors in the Central Park. Limited space for organizations to interact with event visitors. If you are interested in joining our community, promoting your business, providing activities or booking food or merchandise, please fill out the application form attached here.
Fees apply. On December 1, community members are invited to begin their first day by shopping for gifts at the Redmond Lights Holiday Market from 12-6 p.m. Inside the Redmond Senior Center. City Hall campus comes alive with an interactive booth at 4 p.m.
Live music and lighting features will be on the main stage. Starting at 5pm, the Marchionne, along with special guests, will light oak trees on campus. The Redmond Lights rocket show begins at 6 p.m. In 2019, the Redmond Chamber of Commerce wrote a grant request for the Oregon Tourism Program and visited the Central Oregon Regional Cooperative Tourism Program for the program.
The matching grant program is partly funded by dollars, taxes on state hotels and areas deducted by regions and real estate to promote tourism to the region. Redmond Northern Lights is a new seasonal multimedia experience that will be featured in front of Redmond City Hall.
Including original, fun and family-friendly animations that interact with the building, this light show experience is the perfect way to keep COVID safe while enjoying the holidays. The festival has been extended this year to allow for physical distance and safety precautions.
