On November 18, current students, alumni and faculty gathered to celebrate CCI’s 50th anniversary – its history, past achievements, future goals and continued impact on current students and alumni. Presenters include George Jacobson, CCI Emeritus Director;
Jim Roscoe, professor emeritus of anthropology who is an associate professor at CCI; CCI alumna Kimberly Miner, a scientist and engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL); and CCI alumnus Kurt Rademacher, assistant professor of anthropology at Michigan State University.

The hope is that this early experience will instill in young people a lifelong interest in further exploration of the fields of gardening, healthy eating and natural resources.
