Each year, the vacation year begins on the first day of the first full pay period in one calendar year and ends before the first day of the first full pay period in the next calendar year.
For 2022, the vacation year began on January 1, 2022 (pay period 02-22) and ended on January 13, 2023 (pay period 02-23) for a total of 27 pay periods. This site is operated by NALC Branch 828 as a fundraiser to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
All proceeds from sales on this site are donated to MDA as part of the National Association of Letter Carriers’ fundraising efforts. As Christians and churches in the North American Lutheran Church, our calling is much bigger than ourselves.

We belong to the heritage of faith. Through Vision 2020, our churches rededicate themselves to join God in His work to fulfill His promises, taking with us discipleship and our core values as we continue the legacy of faith.
Therefore, employees may receive additional pay periods equal to annual leave during the 2022 leave year, compared to the normal 26 pay period leave year. For a full-time employee, the additional pay period will amount to 4, 6 or 8 hours depending on the employee’s leave accrual range.
Part-time letter carriers earn leave based on the number of hours worked during the pay period equal to the amount of leave earned by full-time employees. CCAs are granted one hour of leave annually for every twenty hours spent in a pay position during each biweekly pay period.

Although employees may accrue additional pay periods equal to annual leave during the leave year 2022, this will not increase the annual leave carryover maximum. Employees must use annual leave in excess of the effective carryover limit by the end of leave year 2022 (January 13, 2023) or they will lose annual leave hours that exceed their carryover limit.
Any additional leave earned by the CCA will be paid against mandatory breaks between appointments. We recognize the fundamental role a strong theological framework plays in our church’s ability to do faithful mission work as we grow and live out God’s Word.
