Through the hard work and dedication of our LCHS students and staff, they have achieved much more than was expected.
Not only did we beat every other district in the region to take first place, but we also achieved an unprecedented ranking of 14th in the state! US News has also recognized us as a Bronze School and a School of Distinction.
It is our firm determination to see that each and every student is successful in all aspects of their lives. Raleigh will be evaluated on seven district standards and goals. Each standard deals with different aspects of effective leadership such as strategic, management and teaching skills.
The superintendent and school board jointly set district goals. Before the meeting ended, board members adjourned for a closed session to review the evaluation plan and expectations with Superintendent David Raleigh before implementing the plan. The final evaluation will take place in June and the results will be discussed in open meetings.

Wilkerson continues to highlight ALES’ programs and initiatives to help students succeed. While her wish list included a dedicated writing teacher, the school has taken steps to improve students’ reading and writing skills, including word charts, handwriting analysis, and demonstrations of writing skills in every class.
The school board has given permission for LaRue County Middle School staff to apply for a 2023 GroMoreGood Grassroots grant from Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation and KidsGardening. Up to 160 schools across the country will be given a $500 grant to start or expand a youth garden or green space.
