How Chase Freedom Quarterly Bonus Categories Work
Unlike Chase, which releases quarterly cash back categories every three months, Discover reveals its calendar for each year. But starting in 2023, Discover will announce its categories before each quarter — starting in Q1 2023, they’ll be grocery stores, drugstores, and select streaming services.
With the Citi Custom Cash℠ Card, you can easily earn 5% cash back (5x Citi ThankYou points) without having to keep track of changing categories or forgetting to activate your bonus. Cardholders earn 5% back on spending up to $500 (1% after that) in the eligible category they spend the most on in a given billing cycle.

Chase Freedom Unlimited® with no annual fee earns 5% back on fares purchased through the Chase portal, 5% back on Lyft rides through March 2025, 3% back on restaurant and drugstore purchases, and 1.5% back on everything else.
