Skip to contentConroe Isd Calendar 2022-23 – At the Jan. 17 meeting, Conroe ISD unanimously approved the proposal for the 2023-24 academic calendar, which includes a total of 174 school days beginning Aug. 9. The District Council considered several options along with the calendars of the neighboring districts.
Hidit Sauceda-Upshaw, assistant director of learning and teaching, said the calendar proposal. The school year begins on August 9 and ends on May 23. Thanksgiving falls between November 20-24, and winter break has been prioritized. It starts Dec. 18 and ends Jan. 2, Sauceda-Upshaw said.

Spring break is March 11-15. He said March 7 and 5 are staff development days, and students will be off on those days. See Conroe ISD – Code of Conduct. The Conroe ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2022-23 school year calendar on January 18. The timetable was developed through district-level planning committees with community involvement. Of the three calendar options included in the district’s calendar survey, the approved calendar received the highest percentage of positive feedback, according to district officials.
On the 175-day academic calendar, students begin the fall 2022 semester on August 10 and end the spring 2023 semester in May. 25. Holidays are scheduled for Thanksgiving, winter break, and spring break. The calendar includes two severe weather days, according to the district.

The 2022-23 school year calendar includes holidays: Thanksgiving, November. 21-25 In his report to the Board of Trustees, Dr. Hedith Upshaw, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, highlighted the calendar’s unique features. The board-approved calendar includes an additional staff development day on March 20.
This day can be used as a student care day if necessary. During the fall semester, we provided two surveys to staff, families and the community to obtain feedback on the program. In total, they received 15,156 mixed responses.

Of the options available, the fixed 2022-2023 calendar is the closest to the current calendar. It represents 175 days of instruction, requiring a minimum of 75,600 instructional minutes for students and 187 working days for teachers.
