Obesity and Diabetes: More Than a “Magic Pill” March 9, 3-4 p.m. Successful management of obesity – a complex, chronic and relapsing disease – through sustainable weight loss interventions can significantly improve a person’s overall health status and reduce the severity of comorbidities such as diabetes.

This activity provides an overview of obesity and diabetes describing multiple effective weight loss intervention approaches and, importantly, highlights the role of integrated lifestyle changes in enhancing the likelihood of successful weight loss and improving health outcomes.

The conversational style of this activity encourages discussion of bariatric care planning and consideration of factors that need to be considered due to the chronic and relapsing characteristics of this disease.
