Walt Disney World usually has “holiday rides” for several weeks. During this time, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and (to a lesser extent) Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom were still decorated for Christmas. There’s no other Christmas entertainment (read more about all of this in our Ultimate Christmas Guide to Walt Disney World) and nothing else.

Crowd calendars predict how busy a theme park will be on any given day of the year. Using data from past years, Disney’s crowd calendars help determine which theme parks will have the shortest lines and which will have the longest lines.

While not all travelers have the ability to plan their trip around the least crowded dates, it can still be a valuable tool. Knowing what to expect will allow you to plan accordingly and help you get the most out of your Disney experience.

As for the least detained, these are the usual suspects. August and September are almost always the least crowded months since the kids go back to school. January is usually next, as many families have just finished their vacation and don’t want to leave so quickly.

In May, people should drop from March and April, and then it will be busy again in June. The peak of summer should be July, when all the kids are out of school and many families head to Disney World.

Hello. We plan to travel 1/9-1/14. Have you heard the talk about whether extended evening hours for luxury resort guests will continue until 2023? They have not published this information as far as I can see.

We’re big fans of ziplining at Disney Parks to make the rides perfect for the day, and ETHE means you can even zipline on site in front of guests. This can be a big advantage for avoiding the crowds and should be considered when planning your trip.

One thing that can derail your park strategy is Disney’s Magic Kingdom parties. Only guests with special event tickets may enter after this time, and Magic Kingdom closes at 7:00 PM on these nights. Weekends are the only time to avoid it as many locals come to the parks.

How The Past Crowd Calendar Is Calculated
