You select some possible times and send a request to the people you want to meet. They select all appointments when they are available, and then you can book an appointment at a convenient time based on this information.

Free/busy is related to your presence and vice versa, but they are separate attributes.
Using Doodle Polls
Free/busy shows your future availability, while presence shows your current status. Free/busy and availability in Office 365 are controlled primarily through the calendar. Your free/busy status will automatically change based on existing calendar appointments, e.g. if you are in a meeting, free/busy and presence information will show Busy.

This will allow users who are still in Convergence to see your free/busy information. Membership: Resource Calendar membership is now controlled through the Western Active Directory structure. Requests to add or remove individuals or change resource calendar permissions should be submitted to the Service Desk.
Characteristics Of Resource Calendars
Double booking. By default, resource calendars do not allow double booking. This behavior can be changed if needed. Check availability: Resource calendars are automatically set to Busy after a meeting invitation. This helps prevent double booking of a resource or room.
Advance booking. By default, resources can be reserved 365 days in advance (one year). This period can be changed upon request. NOTE: Calendar items marked private are protected. Most people you share your calendar with can only see the time of items marked “Private,” not the topic, location, or other details, but you can allow a delegate to see the details of items marked “Private.”

Department ID: This is an abbreviation or acronym for your department, e.g. The ID of Western Technology Services is “WTS”. This ID will represent all resource calendars in your department. Building and room number. Inventory calendars can now contain details about buildings and room numbers.
It is recommended to use the exact building and room number and avoid generic names such as “Meetingroom1”, e.g. WTS-SSB-3333 Seat Capacity: Meeting room seating can now be set during calendar creation. Resource Type: Owners of 3333-MeetingRoomCalendar.
Required Information For Setup
Note the UWO user IDs of the resource calendar owners. Membership. By default, department resource calendars will be available to everyone in departments. If you need a resource calendar for only specific individuals or a subset of your department, we will need a list of UWO user IDs for all required members.
People you share your calendar with receive an email with this message. The message invitation includes two options: one to add your calendar to their calendar view and one to share their calendar with you.
