Students who expect sufficient reimbursement from their financial aid funds may use up to $600 in bookstore credit at the bookstore. Students with semester credit have a limited amount of time to use the credit before it expires.
Soar Session Dates Times
The credit terms are listed below. It is important to note that due to changes to your enrollment, assistance and/or eligibility, you may still owe a balance if the credit is used up before the changes are reflected on your account.
(*The following dates are subject to change) Students admitted to fully online programs indicate their intent to enroll to Georgia Southern by registering for SOAR. The date for this SOAR session is set for the first day of school;
however, students in fully online programs do not attend an official SOAR event. Once you register, your Academic Advising Team will be notified and will let you know the specific next steps for your program. There is no fee to register with SOAR.
Many of the clinical programs offered by the Waters College of Health Professions require a clinical internship or practicum experience to fulfill degree requirements. In accordance with the university’s legal arrangements, clinical experience participants must follow the workplace rules of the clinical location.
Book Store Credit Dates
The University is aware of recent federal requirements requiring vaccination against COVID-19 for those working in certain settings, including health care. We currently expect that these new requirements may significantly impact our ability to find placements for students who have not yet been vaccinated.

As always, WCHP will continue to strive to place students in clinical positions. Please note, however, that we may not be able to find a place to accept unvaccinated students, which may result in a delay or inability to progress and complete the degree program.

Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal Dates
Georgia Southern University uses the recalculation date for each term to determine final award amounts and payout amounts. This date is always given after the initial release/addition period. Pell awards and disbursement eligibility are based on student enrollment on that date.

The dates and times for the awarding of diplomas in autumn 2022 and spring 2023 have been set. All candidates have the opportunity to choose where they want to graduate. Until the spring of 2023, ceremonies will be held in accordance with the university in Statesboro and Savannah.
The foundation of this can-do spirit was born on December 1, 1906, when delegates from Statesboro, Georgia traveled to the DeSoto Hotel in Savannah and made the winning bid to establish the county’s first agricultural school in Statesboro.
