In a recent social media post, Rogers School District Superintendent Jeff Perry said he expects Rogers Schools to adopt the 2023-24 calendar year, as the results of the survey were evenly split. On Monday, Fountain Lake School District Superintendent Michael Murphy urged his district not to follow their parents’ calendar after the results of a public survey showed 61.5% agreed with the same.
When asked if the changed calendar/year would help students grow academically, 54.5% of HSSD staff said yes, while 16.7% said no and 28.7% said they don’t know . Of those who answered no, 54.9% cited summer travel plans as their biggest concern.
Nehus said the most impactful survey results were that 7% of employees said yes and 20% said maybe when asked if they would want to work somewhere else if the district complied the year-round calendar.
