A videotape interview of each laureate was screened and a special plaque was presented to each laureate. “Here at CVCC, we don’t celebrate Black history overnight, we celebrate it throughout the month through social media posts, podcasts, interviews, institutional issues and professional development,” said Felicia Simmons, Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion.
“We celebrate all day and all year long. We won’t stop celebrating after tonight. At CVCC, we recognize and recognize all diversity and equality, not just black history, and ensure that all people feel valued throughout the year. We practice inclusion throughout.”
