Cvs Photo Calendar – I invited a panel of four expert judges, all with professional experience in photography and printing, including people from Plum Print’s book printing service. Mimeo only offers one style and
calendar size: large 13 x 10″ in size, just behind Costco’s premium 11.5″ x 14″ calendar. Quality is average overall, but varies by standards. Color ratings are second to best performing products of Printique and Mixbook; and skin tones scored the highest ratings. Printique offers the most advanced design software with fine control over borders, text, shadows and more. It also offers a large variety of background designs and stickers/clips

Costco’s offerings were less like the others in our review. Its entry-level center calendar is slightly smaller at 8.5 x 11 inches; and its premium model is large at 11.5 x 14 inches. But even with the big calendar costing much less than smaller competitors, we chose it to put Costco in the best light.
Its software excels in overall organization with highly customizable page backgrounds and text. There are 37 design templates (plus the option to create your own). You can add photos, background and text not only on the front, but also on the back.

(Mixbook also allows this.) But Mimeo’s software lacks some features typical of other services, such as stickers and clips. And customization only applies to cover and homepage photos. The calendar grid pages below only allow a generic, default black and white design.
You can create events (except the default holidays) with customizable text and any image on the corresponding calendar post. Mixbook has our favorite web design software for a mix of clean layouts and customization features. You can start from a generous selection of 139 design templates or create your own look from scratch.
Mixbook’s software allows you to adjust borders, drop shadows and image opacity. You can adjust photos by applying effects (filters) and adjusting brightness, saturation and contrast. But there are limitations. Competitors allow more control over text and Printique has many calendar grid options.
Those things aside, it’s still a fantastic service. And if you run into trouble, Mixbook offers helpful pop-up tips and live chat support. The school years are when many lifelong memories are made and special relationships are formed.

Public Holiday Sales
For comparison, we chose models hanging from the central wall. (Vendors may also offer smaller desktop versions and larger top-hung versions.) Sizes varied considerably within this category, which we took into account when calculating the total cost.
The large calendar connects Printique for the best contrast and the quality of its cover is the highest. Thick, glossy pages are durable and improve contrast as well as color. Skin tones and color quality are middle of the pack.
Printique continues to top our calendar reviews with the highest overall quality. Its pages earned top marks from our judges, though the pages themselves are the thinnest in our review, giving a concern about durability. Printique also ranked first for color, contrast and sharpness/detail.
However, it is average for skin tones. While the glossy finish enhances image quality, it doesn’t smudge when you write on the page. Although it’s still early in 2023, there’s still plenty of time to order one of this year’s best photo calendars.
How We Test Photo Calendar Services
While we have calendar apps all over our devices, a physical calendar is a great way to visualize the time ahead, from this week’s events to holidays that are approaching faster than you can imagine. Filling a calendar with your favorite photos is also a great way to add some nice art and memories to your desktop or (physical) wall.

The Mixbook calendar finished in the middle of the pack in our quality score (on par with Costco and Mimeo). Its cover bill is just behind Costco and ahead of Printique. Color and skin tones are second only to Printique and Mimeo.
Military Discount
The smooth page finish strikes the right balance between displaying images well and creating a surface that’s easy to write on without smudges. Active duty US military members, veterans and their families can receive a 20% CVS Photo military discount.
You must be enrolled in the store’s Veteran’s Advantage program to receive the discount. Veteran’s Advantage members can get this discount on almost anything in the store, not just photography products. Members also receive free shipping.
However, Costco’s design software is a bit limited. It starts with just 18 calendar templates. (Shutterfly has 80 and Printique only 11). You cannot customize or decorate photo homepages with features such as frames, masks or videos.
Text is limited to boxes for the page template or template you choose. and font styles, sizes and colors are very limited. We’ve also included shipping costs and times, where possible, for each service. Rule of thumb: The longer you wait to order, the more it will cost you to receive the calendar on time.
The pre-built templates let you choose from a small selection of alternative backgrounds for the main photo page, but you can’t choose any background if you create your own design. You cannot apply backgrounds to the grid pages below the calendar or change the grid style.
In addition to holidays, you can create your own calendar events, including a personalized one, by adding an image and text. it online, but the product we received in the mail was classified by itself due to poor image quality.
Everything was overexposed and washed out, creating a terrible contrast. And a yellow tinge permeated all the images, creating generic, sickly skin tones with poor color quality. In short, the calendar looks like its cover and pages have been left in the sun.
Surprised by the poor quality (especially considering the much better image quality of Shutterfly’s photo book), we ordered a second copy of the same design. This one was a little less washed out, and just as yellow.
This overwhelming quality would be a non-starter at any price, but Shutterfly’s calendar is also the most expensive we’ve rated at $34.99 for the 12-month 8 x 11-inch version.
