Report Out Sessions

Participants will benefit from sample reports and methodology to assist them in their own processes. The goal of the systems analysis process is to look at how barriers are built into our systems and structures, representing often invisible barriers to fully meeting the needs of all of our students, especially those who are underserved and/or marginalized in our society.

In doing so, we shift our perspective away from the question, “how do we change our students to better fit the requirements of our system?” to “How can we adapt our institutional structures and processes to be more equitable, flexible and inclusive in meeting the needs of all our students?”

From this thinking at the unit level, we can begin to identify the problems we need to act on. We then take specific actions and indicate how we will know that our efforts are successful. Your student is getting ready to start on campus this spring, and there are a lot of activities to complete before the first day of class.

Learn about the tasks and processes students need to complete in order to prepare for their first semester at LMU. As part of your onboarding experience, incoming freshmen will watch a set of videos that provide information about academic tools and student resources.

Limited Student Support

Completion credit will be granted and students can work at their own pace. New student orientation modules must be completed prior to arrival so you will learn how to make payments to your student account, order books for your classes, access student resources, and participate in campus life.

* If you believe your event contributes to the mission of a Tier 1 event, you may submit an exception request to be considered for the event to run during these outages. Please note that these requests will not be considered until at least 30 days prior to the Tier 1 schedule and approval of your event is not guaranteed.

An alternate date should be assigned to avoid conflicts. If your event is approved to run during the Tier 1 lockdown period, event support will be minimal, if any, and permission will only be granted for the current year.

Dates designated as student restricted visitation days are times when we do not have all of our student staff, which usually occurs when classes are not being held as indicated on the Academic Enrollment Calendar. Events may occur on campus during these dates, but customers should be aware that limited support is available and that certain requests may require more setup time to meet.
